I was aiming to spend around $20k all in – flights, hotel, wedding bands, honeymoon, etc. I think we ended up at about $36k.

Our wedding was in Scotland and was 68 people.

Our original aim was around 20k. Now, due to some sudden surprises, we’re looking at a number closer to 22k. I’m really really adamant we don’t go over this number, since that’s already seriously pushing our limit and stressing me out. I’m fearful with all the extra miscellaneous things that like to pop up there’s going to be another 1k lurking in there somewhere, but I’m crossing my fingers for the best.

Bump!  I want to see more activity on this!

We’re doing a domestic destination, so our budget is low at about $5, but I’m guess when all is said and done, it will likely be closer to 6k with hotel rooms.  Our rings and honeymoon are not included in that budget.

We started planning a large wedding in our home state with a budget of $10K, then realized that was too low for 75-100ppl so we upped it to $12K, then it was getting outta hand and with everything we wanted would be closer to $15K- not to mention travel & lodging costs for our families bc they all live across the US (only my brother is nearby). So we scrapped that, lost maybe $500 in deposits (most vendors were able to fill the date since it was still 6mos out so we got alot back), and decided to go small with a DW.

We only had 4 guests, which is legally required in Mexico to have 4 witnesses to the ceremony. We got a hotel package for about $1,200 plus we hosted a reception back in our families home state (but it was potluck & my grandma did alot of the work) for about $500. So our DW package, plus our AI room/flights (San Fran to Mexico to Atlanta back to San Fran), and our families celebration in their area= $6K. I included our honeymoon in there too because it was at the same place as the DW, we just stayed an extra week…

bkprettygirl:  Yup! I’m doing it just because I want a small guest list. Hah hah. I just don’t want to have to invite family I haven’t seen in like 15-20 years.

We had 30 guests and went to Dreams Los Cabos.

Our trip cost around 3800 (2 people) including flights.

The wedding was around 14000 (including wedding bands, suits, etc.)

So in total, it was in the 17k range but I’d originally hoped for 10k. Sigh…haha. It was all worth it in the end but I still wish we could’ve brought down that ridiculous cost.

I guess we were lucky! Our hard budget was 25k, we hoped to keep it closer to 22k, and in the end we spent just under 20k. We only came in under budget because we were originally expecting around 75 guests and ended up with 50. DWs are tough!

It adds up quick! We planned on around 8k and it ended up being around 13k! it was a planned elopement so we didn’t have any guests.  Our room took up the largest chunk at $5800 for the week.

We did a DW to California (which is a DW for us as we live in Hawaii our families are from Seattle and Chicago) with about 60 guests. We planned to spend no more than $20K.

We ended up spending $23K on 40 people and it was the most beautiful night ever.

But damn. We thought we were being so generous with our original budget. Little did we know that EVERYTHING is expensive EVERYWHERE.

We were originally planning to spend $45k (simply on the wedding & reception – no honeymoon or rings), but it’s now looking more like $60k. Sometimes I feel silly spending so much on a wedding, but we can afford it and want to have the best possible food/music/experience for our guests.
