Mashed Potatoes!  I mean, I like them any other day of the week, but for Thanksgiving we make them tastier by adding in extra flavor (er, fat) basically lots of butter and sour cream.  Mmmmmmmm, so good, and thankfully we only eat the extra fatty patatoes once a year, my waistline couldn't handle them year 'round!

Mashed potatoes w/ vegetarian gravy.  I pretty much only eat mashed potatoes on thanksgiving, and my mom makes a special veggie gravy for my sister and I that is out of this world.  Yum!!  I love stuffing and pumpkin pie, too.  ;)

after reading this I want to say "all of the above" I love homemade mashed potatos and homemade turkey gravy. I could eat a vat of it. I also love stuffing, particularly oyster stuffing. My FMIL hates it, but she knows I love it, and my FI and his dad both love it, so she is going to make it this year. PS this is the first year in well over a decade that I could just be a guest at Thanksgiving, and didn't have to cook the meal! I think I am more excited about that, than anything!

I can't choose just one. Mashed Ppotatoes & gravy, stuffing, and this baked creamed pearl onion dish DH's aunt makes all compete for my palate's attention.

Why was it so easy to pick my least favorite side dish but so difficult to pick my favorite?  I'm voting just about everything that passes in front of my plate at the table...

I just thought of my favorite.

Tourtiere.  My French Canadian grandmother makes it homemade (a meat pie).  We actually have her make two... one gets served at the Thanksgiving table and one we hide away for later that weekend... *hehe*

My mouth is literally watering right now.

Stuffing (stove top all the way!) and my family makes "broccoli shit" (yes, that's what we call it) it's a broccoli casserole and it's SOO good... I really miss it since I don't go hom for thanksgiving anymore and there is always so much food at fi's family. :(

I am not really a "meat and mashed potatos" gal. well I actually dont eat meat at all LOL. So, I guess deviled eggs woudl be my favorite side. Dessert is the only food I look forward to for thanksgiving. I am in charge of desserts this year. I am making cherry pie, chocolate pumpkin pie and pecan pie (all with homemade whipped cream with different flavors) from scratch this year!!! What sucks is that I have to travel with them over 300 miles! I hope they are still good!

@bestbuddies: I can't believe I almost forgot about deviled eggs.

Ouf, 300 miles of travelling?  I know somehow if it were me they would end up upside down!

Travelling 300 miles with devilled eggs is brave! Not to mention, you'd have to make sure that the temperature they are stored in is safe at all times to prevent anyone getting sick. Seems like it would be easier to make them once you get to your destination since they are quick and easy.

Oh, I forgot my favorite! Ok, so my mom makes it for most holidays, but that counts, right?

It's called pink fluff - it's whipping cream, cherry juice, cherries, cream cheese, little marshmallows and pineapple tidbits. Favorite thing ever! I used to pick out all the cherries when I was little.

Ok, so I still do. Sue me :P

Sweet potatoes!  Which is funny because I thought I hated sweet potatoes for the longest time.  Turns out, I only hate the canned kind.

stuffing with gravy on it. but it has to be baked in a dish, I don't like the wet stuffing from the inside of the turkey.

Mashed potatoes. One of my favorite foods, period.

It's even better to mix all of the other cheesy side dishes in with the potatoes, though. Mmmm.
