I am going to because I loathe growing my hair out. :) My hair hasn't been as long as it is since....2004? It's extremely thick and can be unmanageable the longer it gets.
Plus I'm donating it to one of the many places... Locks of Love or one of the others. So I may have to grow it for a little bit after the wedding but once it meets the requirements, goodbye long hair!
I did a pre-wedding chop about one week before my wedding, but I was planning on a post. I grew my hair out for my wedding, like I'm sure a lot of brides do, and it's nice to not feel tied down to growing it out anymore!
@jo.lee: That's true. It takes a lot of effort to think to yourself, "dammit! I'm going to grow it out, and its GOING TO LOOK FABULOUS!".... and then you can't touch it. And the wait is gruelling. I've never liked actively TRYING to grow it out.
For me, I want a post-wedding chop because the woman who styled my hair for my wedding was A-MAZING, and I made sure to talk to her about "hair theory" and such based on the shape and size of one's face, etc... and she hands-down convinced me she was worth her weight in hair. I've waited a long time to have confidence in a stylist that could just look at you and say, "ah! I know just the style for you!" and you could trust them completely.
Also, having been pampered and done-up for the wedding was a really amazing experience too. I don't come from a background where money was plentiful as I was growing up, so now that I'm in contol of my finances and can make the choice for myself whether I want to be comfortable vs. poor, I've always sort of denied myself anything truly indulgent when money could be saved. I love how special and important the stylist made me feel, and I am willing to pay the extra $ every six months to this particular stylist to replecate that feeling. (Trims can be done by any old hair-cuttery person in between true hairstyle changes-- this stylist was top-of-the line, so I'd like to limit my visits with her)

After getting married, I feel very compelled to change my hairstyle, and I noticed that it's actually a rather common phenomenon. If you're like me and want or have gotten a vastly different hairstyle since tying the knot, what motivated you to do it? Just curious.
