All the time! Our kitchen table is usually full of stuff.

Only on special occassions (Friday night pizza night, etc). We try to have a sit-down dinner together every day. Dinner was always family time for both of our families growing up so we really try to preserve that.

Yes all of the time. I wish I could say no.

*Sigh* Yes.  When we were at mine we eat at the table but he didn’t have a table in his old flat despite the pestering.  Then when we found out he was moving we didn’t bother.  I’ve pretty much told him we’re getting one in our new flat. We’re currently LD.

We do everyday but our dining table is in the living room so it’s more that it’s on and we watch it rather than we sit on the couch when having dinner

It’s really surprising to me to see that the majority of people eat the majority of their meals (or at least dinners) in front of the television. It’s not just something I’ve been exposed to. Growing up we didn’t always have sit down dinners together due to sports practice, dad working late, etc, but we were never allowed to eat in front of the TV except on special occassions.

Do people wish they didn’t eat in front of the TV but do it without thinking, or because it’s “easier”? Or do people have no problem with it? I’m curious!

Now that my teenagers are hardly ever at home during dinner time, yes, we eat in front of the TV most of the time.  Until my kids had activities and jobs that took them away from home most evenings, we had dinner at the table every evening.  If their work schedules allow it, I still try to have dinner as a family on Sundays.

Yes. Doing it right now. Usually don’t do it as much, but we are mid kitchen reno, so there isn’t really anywhere else to eat.

We usually only eat in front of the tv if we’re sick or feeling lazy, or if we’ve decided to watch a movie. So pretty rarely! We’ve lived in our house for about six months and I think we’ve eaten in front of the tv less than five times. But FI gets home from work late usually, so I’ve been waiting to talk to him all day, so the tv stays off!

Growing up? NEVER. We sat at the table and had dinner every night, even if it was 10 minutes to swallow hot dogs before we had something else going on. Now, that it is just me and DH? Yes…. a lot.

We never did it growing up, and DH and I never do it now. I always loved talking with my whole family, and I love talking with DH now.

We are so bad… our table is always covered in coats and winter gear to the point that I’m ready to splurge on a coat rack and find a place to put it! We never eat at the table anymore because of that, though when the weather gets warmer and we can eat on our outside deck, hopefully that will change.

Growing up we ate around the table for sure, when it was a full family meal. Those sort of faded away as everyone got older but Mom pulled us around the table once a week and banned newspaper reading for the duration of the meal.

We do but we don’t have a table to eat at.

We don’t always have the tv on but more often than not we watch something with dinner. Once we have a proper table we’ll eat at it and when we have kids we will eat dinner at the table.

Growing up it was a treat to watch tv at dinner.
