Sauvignon Blanc is my first choice when it comes to white wines, but I will have Chardonnay by default

Not a big fan. I’ll have a glass if that’s all there is, but I’d pick many other drinks before that.

I enjoy it and it’s definitely one of my favorites.. but not my all time favorites… I like Vinho Verde. It’s probably one of my top 2 or 3 favorite wines.

ETA: I don’t like ALL chardonnays.. I like the drier crisper ones not so much the florally ones. Also prefer unoaked to oaked.

I couldn’t pick an option; I like some wines, but I’ll pass on the chardonnay, only option or not.

Edit: wait I read the phrasing wrong, I do have an option!

I’ll drink it if it’s what’s being offered but if there is another white available then I would rather drink that.

If the house wine is Chardonnay I will drink it, but given the choice, I’d pick Sauvignon blanc, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Albariño, Chablis, or even sometimes vouvray. It’s not my fave but I definitely don’t hate it. Makes a pretty good spritzer.

While we are on the topic though, I seriously don’t understand the rise of moscato. Am I the only person who still considers this a dessert wine? I have friends who drink it with dinner! And the last time I was at a liquor store in my hometown, the cold case was half moscato, half everything else. It’s huge!

Chardonnay isn’t my favorite, but I do like unoaked Chardonnay!

I can’t stand any wine. I always say I’m probably the only girl in the world who doesn’t like wine, but looks like the pole shows there’s someone else too! I’m not alone…yay!

There is no one-size-fits-all Chardonnay. Having been in the wine biz for 25 years, I can say with confidence that there is so much variation in Chardonnays that it’s almost like many different varietals.

I really enjoy a nice classic Chardonnay, not over-oaked and with no residual sugar.

I have varied (and occassionally déclassé) preferences when it comes to Chardonnays.  I do appreciate a nice Chablis, but I wish there were more people making oaky, creamy Chardonnays that didn’t take those aspects of creaminess and oakiness overboard.  I know that they’re out of vogue right now because they don’t pair well with most food, but when I’m not really in the mood for being serious and thoughtful about my wine consumption and I just need a glass to hold at a party, those out of style Chardonnays become more appealing!
