    Of course I think that my relationship is better than most. That is why I chose to have this relationship forever 🙂 Hopefully that is why most people choose their spouse, but I know it is not always.

    I made a promise to myself before even meeting my husband that I would not marry someone unless I had that feeling of being more in love than anyone else in the world.

    @bmo88:  There seems to be dysfunctional relationships everywhere I go in regards to my family and friends. My DH and I were actually just talking about this because we found ourselves asking the question “are we the only normal ones left in this family?!” Literally any issue that a replationship could ever had has been displayed by either a family member or friend.

    I don’t want to say that my relationship is “better” than anyone elses. But I do find myself saying internally “I am so incredibly lucky” quite often. I know that we aren’t perfect but we are definitely perfect for each other.

    Yah, I do in some cases. Especially after hearing a couple of my fiancé’s friends complain about their women or always have to cancel plans because his wife got upset about spending time together or something. I think that’s crazy – my fiancé and I let each other live our lives without trying to control the other’s time and when we see our friends.

    I went with better than most soley because we communicate so well. In my opinion, communication has always been one of the most important aspects of a relationship to me. By communicating well disagreements are dealt with in a “nice” way, we can talk about finances/sex/other topics that tend to be difficult topics to discuss for some couples.

    I imagine most people will vote yes. : ) I feel that SO and I have a better relationship than all of our family members except for one. I would say that one is equally as good as ours.

    I voted YES, just because FI makes me feel like I am the most loved and happy girl in the world.

    Not in a corny way, I just REALLY feel like I am the most loved women ever! My man is so amazing…

    I think this is the way everyone should feel hehe. Fairy tale much?

    I think it is so rediculous for someone to say, “our relationship is better than most others around us”. We don’t know what happens with other couples when we’re not around. We don’t know what goes on in others’ minds and hearts. You may see a couple having a hard time or having a great time… but each scenario may not be as it seems. I am all for focusing on your own relationship.

    i voted yes.  Most of my friends are single, because they keep getting involved in crappy relationships that don’t work out.  But I think this has to do with our age a little to.  We are in our mid-twenties so everyone isn’t exactly itching to settle down either.

    @bmo88:  Haha.. I admittedly do….

    Not so much comparing to them, but more so being judgemental because of how well I perceive mine to be going. I could be very wrong but from what I see and have been told, we have a much better relationship than a lot of people in our family/ social circle. We communicate really well and we’ve been told that its enviable. That’s where my opinion is coming from.

    @CarterLove:  +1.

    I have never compared my relationship to anyone else’s, because I have no idea what really goes on behind closed doors and I actually don’t care. I think my relationship is great and I work everyday to keep it that way and that’s all that matters to me.

    @bmo88:  Perspective is interesting!!  When I ‘compare’ my relationship to my friends, I would say we are all in relationships if equal calibar.  Extremely happy, supportive of one another’s needs/goals, ‘comfortable’ in life (nicer homes, good jobs, etc), and yet we all have our ‘issues’ too – whether it personality differences that drive us crazy with your FI’s/DH’s!!

    When I ‘compare’ my relationship to those around me at work (where I am a direct Supervisor to 20 or so employees), I would say my relationship is WAY better.  HOWEVER, what I am learning is that their relationships, of which usually entail cheating/abuse (which they share with me often), are all ‘they know’ in life.  They watched their parents (or whomever raised them) doing the same thing.  Although I cannot imagine being in that situation, they cannot imagine being in my ‘boring/stuffy’ relationship.  So, I think they would say I am WORSE off!!
