We’re definitely doing signature cocktails – one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic (for now). Is it better to have a crazy made-up name (not a common non-descriptive name like Sex on the Beach but rather Jane’s Ultimate Addiction – totally made this up) or something descriptive (like Very Berry Martini)?
I am having tray-passed cocktails at the beginning of the cocktail hour but then I will also have a menu on the bar for walk-ups later.

We’re doing them as well and I’ve been going back and forth over which to do as well. I finally decided that the more personal ones are the winners, I feel they’re more fun and add a little meaning to the drink. We’re going to use our nicknames in the drink names.

I like funky names, myself. You can always add a description below.

@priyathescientist: I like the idea of funky names (minus the coming up with them part!) but my concern is that since we are doing tray-passed drinks intitially, it might be kind of a pain for the servers to keep explaining what each one is versus just giving them the descriptive name and done.

I’m partial to the funky names.
