so, west.coast.blonde just started a poll on how hairy you like your men. so that got me thinking...

a few years ago, I got into a tiff with a co-worker who is very different from me. he is younger, more polished, more "metrosexual" then the kind of people I hang out with.

well, anyway, our fight was about women being completely hairless in the snatch area. my stance was that some hair removal is a good thing (trimming, shaving, waxing, whatever) but I think women should have at least a little bit of hair down there. he was adamant that the more hairless the better. really, he would prefer all women be completely hair free. but he also argued that women who merely trimmed (but no shaving or waxing) are over-the-top disgusting. and I mean trimmed neat, not some giant au naturel bush.

the argument led me to think this guy is a creepy d-bag. sure, I get that a big ol' giant bush has not been considred that desireable since the 70's, but personally, I think the extreme opposite is pretty bad. but mainly it was his attitude that bugged me. he made me feel like I was the distugsting one because I only just trim.

so anyway, what's your opinion on hair down there?

oh, PS: before you think "what an inappropriate conversation to have with a male co-worker"..... we were working at a hair removal place at the time, so it was actually kind of a work related topic!

I'm a neatly trimmed and groomed kind of girl. I hate being bare because of the exact reason you said, it makes me feel like a little girl.

I know some women prefer bare because they feel cleaner that way. Eh. It's a personal preference, i guess.

I personally like it all gone...mostly because I'm not coordinate enough to shave some places and not other places...plus I get really hung up on everything having perfect symmetry. :)

Most of my friends trim though. I think I only know a couple gals that only shave their bikini lines *personal shudder*

I definitely like the clean feeling of no hair, but it is such a pain to get to that point, so I mostly just trim and shave. FI is European... he doesn't care either way.

    @futuremrswifey: hee hee

I'm not against any of the different choices. if you want to be totally bald, go for it! it was just this guy's attitude that made me so mad--- that all women should be as hairless as possible and anything different is just sick and wrong.

True story - I went to get waxed a few times, and the woman asked me not to come back, my hair is so coarse.  So what I'd like (waxed with some hair) and what I do (trim) are two different things, haha.

I think Men should be happy they are getting pussy , period!

The guy who is obsessed with clean shaven probably reads too many playboys and what not.

In the end I would love for it to be purely the womans preference, not what she thinks makes her more desirable.

I married a foreigner and we just started having sex last week, so hair is on his " I don't care" list ;) I do however keep things nice but I am not obsessed with perfection or feel embarassed should I go into the act with a little fuzz or what not ;) LOL

yeah that guy sounds like a douche

I keep things tidy/trimmed but I honestly cannot be bothered to shave it all off/wax. I highly doubt DH cares, he's never mentioned anything and I'm honestly not worried about keeping it looking good for him--I totally get some women taking it all off because they like how it feels tho.

I go totally bare - like others have said, I think it just feels better and I feel cleaner.  BUT, again, I think a woman should be able to decide whatever works for her.  FI prefers me bare, as well, but if I decided I didn't like doing it and wanted to grow it back, that would be my choice.  Like Mrs. Argentina said, guys should just be happy to have access!

It really, really depends. I'm neatly trimmed most of the time and waxed for special occasions (with just a tuft) but I actually like a proper full bush on other women (bisexual girl's prerogative). I'm lucky my fiance just thinks that he's lucky to have me, hair and all.

I prefer being trimmed, and my SO prefers that too.

If I ever shaved it all off I doubt I'd get any because it makes SO feel like he's having sex with a little girl.

@zagora:They actually asked you not to come back?  Is it because it wasn't trimmed, or its actually just that course? I have wanted to go get a wax but i'm always afraid they'll be judging me because I only ever trim, with little shaving (I just get nervous with a blade down there)

    so true!

....The guy who is obsessed with clean shaven probably reads too many playboys and what not.

he actually had a really beautiful girlfriend that he married later. I felt sorry for her, I wondered if she would always have to live up to his standards. but I never met her so maybe she was the same way. I mean, this guy clearly groomed his eyebrows, so maybe she was just as picky about his looks!

I kind of go back and forth. When my husband and I had sex for the first time, I was clean shaven. And I was for awhile, bare all the way. But then he wanted me to grow it out to see if he liked it haha, so I did. He's seen it both ways and doesn't mind either way. If I don't feel like maintaining, I don't feel bad ;) I can't shave it every day obviously that would be painful, so I shave it maybe once a week? and the rest of the time have a little stubble.

So I go between bare and trim :)

@Eva Peron: Hahaha! I had thought of doing that for my honeymoon lol, like shave a lighnting bolt of something silly - but when I told my then-fiance he was like, umm no. haha

I thought about getting the shape of Argentina vajazzled, but I figured it would just freak him out that women give enough thought into bedazzling and landscaping  their whoohas!

@adnama:  No, no, no - I was neat!  She was nice about it, but basically said something like, "I think this just isn't for you - your hair is too coarse."

I had it properly trimmed and everything - it's just that I'm super, super prone to ingrown hairs because of my hair.  Even shaving has left me with dark discoloration.  (I'm Latina.)

I prefer it all gone but I can't shave every day and I wish I could afford to get it waxed but I can't. So... Sometimes it gets "unpresentable" and I don't like Mr. Hedgie doing anything down there unless it is "clean". I say that because unless it is perfectly shaven, I feel dirty even if he demands that it isn't.

I prefer it all gone just because it feels more comfortable to me, and I have a tattoo that goes a bit further down from my stomach.

The problem is that I hate hate hate shaving. In general, but especially down there. The girl at the salon said my hair is really strong, but my skin is fair and sensitive, and she made me promise to never shave again - not even my legs or underarms :D I'd always get terrible razorburn, and always waited two weeks in between shavings because my skin was so wrecked.

Since I'm too lazy to get an appointment and go to the salon twice a month (one for brazilian, one for legs & underarms, I can't do all of that in one day!), I started waxing legs & underarms at home. I'm too scared to try it in the more delicate areas.. I'm glad FH has a thing for asian girls, and since I'm asian and the women in the explicit movies all have a bush, I could pretty much just let it grow wild :D

@zagora: I've had it done on my legs but I had to stop at 4 treatments. I only shave once a week, but by the 5th day, you can start to see the hair -- it's so much more sparse than it was before though! I used to shave every single day so that's an improvement.  maybe one day I'll complete my treatments.

I think it's so funny when people say that no hair is "cleaner". It actually promotes an unhealthy vaginal environment because the hair is there to help keep bacteria and infections out of your vajayjay. Not to mention that waxing causes your hair follicles to become mini open wounds and you can very easily get herpes and nasty infections like staph and MRSA in them. It's just like eyelashes being there to help keep foreign matter out of your eyes.

Not hating on bare ladies. Your lady bits are your business 100%. I just think it's interesting. I keep mine trimmed down very close to the skin, so I'm not much better off. I'd probably go more bare if my damn hair wasn't so coarse and I didn't get awful ingrown hairs no matter what I do.

Totally bare for me too!  I can't do just trimmed because it gets itchy, which is awkward and uncomfortable.  DH prefers it bare because when it's only trimmed, it's scratchy.  I guess I must have really coarse hair or something?

I'm of the no hair down there camp too- I def don't think it's cleaner but I love the way sex feels without the hair. I find oral sex much better too- TMI- somehow it feels heaps wetter!

I've had laser hair removal but because I have dark skin and light hair I'm not a very suitable candidate so after I've finished all that I still get a wax every 6 weeks or so.

All of the maintenance is for me really as the boy doesn't care as long as he gets it! Lol.
