I was but by the time I gained the courage to admit it, about a decade later,  it had been too long ago to try and get him arrested. There were multiple times I was drugged and raped (by the same guy) as a minor. I would cry and try to beat him off of me but I was too out of it to have enough strength and he’d just keep going until I was raw and in agony. Why didn’t I tell my parents? I didn’t want them to find out I had a “friend” in his 20’s when I was 15. Sounds ridiculous now, right? My SIL was also raped at that age, and never prosecuted either.

I was, went to the cops, went to a hospital for a week, went to court and they found him not guilty..how I dont know. It definitely not something that I just go around telling people, but the important people in my life know, except for my mom. I still have a hard time dealing with it and speaking about it even though its been about 8 years. Even posting it here is hard enough for me. I always feel as though people are going to judge me because of it.

I was at age 19 by someone I considered to be one of my best best friends. A guy I’d known for years, seriously, best friends- he even would babysit my little brother when my mom and I were at work. I didn’t go to the cops or anything because A) I was moving across state like 2 weeks later and instead of “dealing” with it I just “ran away” and B) all of my friends were hardcore pressuring me into going to the cops which made me feel even less in control of the situation. I was totally fucked up for years afterwards (major depression, eating disorder, self harm) but I’m doing a lot better now 7 years later, honestly it is still something I think about every single day.

Thankfully, I have never been raed or sexually assaulted. However, a very large percentage of women I know have been. Unfortunately, they all have major psychological issues because of it and cannot enjoy sex.

So, for some of us, even the “R” word can be a trigger. It’s been brought up before. It’s a good idea to post *trigger warning* or “SA” as opposed to the R word in your title so bees that are sensitive to it can avoid it.

    Pls/thx

@fiver:  pretty much how I dealt with it too, except add in alcohol and drug use. I was pretty much in a downward spiral to end my life until I got pregnant with my son. I was still very very depressed (and still am sometimes) but my son basically saved my life.

@Ibblet:  Yes. Given it was my thread, I’m sure you already knew that 😉 But just thought I would reiterate AGAIN that I am not ashamed – there’s no need to be.
