My maiden name isn't even on the list.  The only people with my name are people that I'm directly related to.

Mine is around 1100, his is around 70,000.  If I changed mine, I'd be just about the only person with that name, but I'm way too attached to it even if there are like 3 or 4 other people with my exact same name.

My maiden name is not on the list. If you live in the US and you have that name, you're related to us. And we've been here less than 100 years so there isn't THAT many of us. My new name is much more common, in the 4,000-5,000 arena. I am kind of digging the anonymity.

My maiden name is super common: #2. However, my soon-to-be married name isn't even ranked. Wow, two ends of the spectrum.

My name isn't on the list.  But a more common spelling of it is in the top 100.

My fiance's name (which I'm not taking) squeaks in just under 1000.

I was surprised to see that there was as many peopl with my last name, because it really is a pretty rare last name. At least it is for real ones who directly came from Ireland.

    Mine- # 7951

    FH's- #2

There's a reason I'm trying to find a way to get my maiden name included. There's already several people in museum with what would be my married name, it's too small of a field for me to be comfotable with that.

Both FI and I have pretty rare names!  Mine is somewhere around the 44,000 spot and his is around 24,000.  So I'll be losing a little bit of rarity but not much :)  It's worth it though to get a name that people will actually be able to pronounce and spell :)

I have two because I was adopted.

The one I was born with is #15 and the one I was adopted with is #6.

It is really weird because my new last name is my born name, so I am now back to #15; and no we aren't related. I do know my biological family and none of them are related to his biological family.

Maiden is #234 FI is in the 14,000s :] Everyone keeps joking that we should combine them to be O'______ FI's last name haha And it would still sound really Irish even with his last name!

Mine is around 20,000.  FI's didn't even make the list!  So when I hyphenate, I will literally be the only person in the world with my surname.  Hmm.

Wow, apparently my last name is a bit more common than I'd have though, but definitely not in my region. I'm going from about #2300-2500 to #200-250.

This is a fun little map to search, too. It definitely confirms my going from 'one of a few' to 'one in a million' in this area.

Wow, my maiden name is more common than I thought.  It's ranked 13,000 something, but I've never met anyone with it except those related to me.  Granted my dad's family is huge...

I went to 300 something, so it is quite a big jump up!

Yeah, like I mentioned before, 21,300 to #2... I definitely wasn't used to meeting poeple with my last name that I wasn't related to, and now there's like 5 at my work.
