The flurry of homebuying posts got me thinking.  How many homes have you lived in? Include any home with any sort of temporary permancy, (so if you lived in the dorms in college, count that as well).

I've moved around a lot!  My mom is very fond of moving/upgrading often.

I'm 28 and have lived in 13 homes and will be moving into my 14th one next month.

I'm at 11! College and right after had me moving just about every year. Once we got married, we lived in just our condo and our house now, so we own 2 homes.

I'm pretty simple:  parents' first house, parents' second house, college dorm, college apartment, back to my parents' during grad school, and now with my husband.

I am up to about 22 or 23 now at 26 years old. It's easy to lose track...

As I said in the other thread, owning a "forever home" with my family is probably the top of my bucket list!

I'm 22 and I've lived in 5 different places.  3 different houses when I lived with my parents, when I was 18 I moved into an apartment and when I was 19 I bought my condo.

9! An apt I was born in, one house we moved to, then to my hometown (3 houses there), 3 apts in college, and my current just-out-of-undergrad apt.

    • Parent's 1st home (~2.5 years)
    • Parent's 2nd home (~12 years)
    • Parent's 3rd home (~4 years and then a couple summers during college - my parents still live here)
    • 1st college dorm
    • 2nd college dorm
    • Apartment in Singapore for summer abroad
    • Sorority House
    • Apartment in NC for summer internship
    • Apartment in CA for job training
    • Apartment in TX

DH and I are preparing to move to Atlanta where we will live with his parents (#11) while we house hunt to buy our first home (#12)!

Around 6ish. When I was young I believe my parents lived in around 3 apartments. Then I lived with my mamaw for a short 9 months during their divorce & a bad car wreck my mom had which left her in a hospital bed for months.

Then my mom & step dads house (lived there for 9 years.) & Now mine & my husband's apartment.

I'm up to five. Two houses with my parents, then an apartment on my own, then my flat in the UK with five horrible roomies, and then back here in another apartment with DH.

Can't wait until we can afford to buy a place and bring my number up to six!

If parents homes dont count, then 1.  If they do then technically 3 other, but i'd only really count 1 of them, since I only remember the house they moved into when I was 4 that I grew up in.

My current apartment is number 5. I lived in the same house growing up in New York, went to college in New York and stayed in a dorm room, moved to Georgia with my ex, moved in with my parents after they moved out here to Vegas (long story) and then moved out into my current apartment.

Damn, I've never stopped to think about it before - I've lived in 19 different places!  11 of those were before I graduated high school and went to college - we moved around a lot when I was a kid because we were really poor and it was a struggle to find a place that was cheap enough and not chock-full of problems that materialized a few months in.  I rememember that we lived in 4 different places my first grade year alone!

My fiance and I are in our first place together, and we plan on sticking around for a while :)  So it'll be a few years before I crack 20!

    Hm. Let's see, since birth,

    1. The house I was born in China
    2. A apartment temporarily with all my cousins and aunts when we just immigrated to the US.
    3. Then our own apartment
    4. Then the house my parents purchased
    5. Dorm room
    6. Then the house I rented with college friends sophomore year
    7. The house my husband and I rented junior year
    8. The house we rented then purchased senior year
    9. And the new home we just purchased that we will be moving into soon!

Good lord, that's a lot! I voted 8 before reading about including dorms!

I was born to a military father so I lived in a German apartment before moving to the US and living in a trailer.

Then my parents bought a house.

4 campus apartments since I had to move out and back in again every year

Then one off-campus apartment because I got tired of moving every year lol.

Then a year later (this past Dcember) FI and I rented our own apartment when we changed cities.

So 9, technically, though FI and I have yet to actually get ourselves a real home together.

And I've lived in five of those homes for 4+ years, so it's not like I moved that often.

Oh WOW!  I lived in my parents house until I moved into my own (with FI).  I voted 2!  I lived in a townhouse for less than a year during university, but I didn't even count that since I came home every weekend and I didn't count it as a "home".

    I've lived in 4, and I'm almost 21.

I lived in one home from birth til I left for college.

Then I lived in the dorms for a year.

Then I had an apartment the next year.

And now I'm in another apartment until August.

Next August we'll be moving into a slightly bigger place for one year while saving, then who knows?

I think I have lived in 12.  My father is a builder and growing up we would eithor buy an old house, live in it, do it up and then sell, or else build a brand new house - live in it for a bit and then sell it and move on etc.

I loved it as my sisters and I always got to redecorate our bedrooms and we always stayed in the same area, at one stage it was 3 houses in the same street so we had the same friends and school etc.

My parents are finally in their forever house now and dad has semi-retired, builds boats in his spare time.

I lived in 3 houses while at uni - flats with flatmates and then FI and I brought the house I am currently in so most of the moves were from when I was little!

ha ha 14, I'd never counted them up before.  I didn't think I moved that much growing up but maybe it's because once we moved to Arizona we stayed in the same city that I tricked myself.

    #1 House in CA

#2 Two story house in CA

    #3 Rental house in AZ

    #4 Rental house in AZ

#5 & #6 two different apartments in the same complex

#7 & #8 two different apartments in another complex (the first one had plumbing issues so they had to let us move to a new one...gross)

#9 mom and dad bought a house and still live there (for 10+ years now)

#10 first apartment on my own

    #11 move in with DF

#12 DF & I broke up, me move to my own new apartment

#13 DF & I get back together and rent a house

    #14 DF & I buy current house

14 for me, and I'm 25. Growing up I lived in 5 different states, but my parents always rented for a couple of months to give them more time to look for a house each time we changed states. Of course once I started college I moved every year.
