Found a random cd (not labelled) once, I knew immediately what it was, FI didn’t and put it in the computer, was photos of him and his ex. (Edit: normal, fully clothed photos – he and I were virgins until we first had sex) He also had all the letters and cards from her until I insisted he get rid of them shortly after we started dating

I haven’t found anything of his that bothered me, but when we were moving, I found a little wood carving thing with my fiance’s name and his ex-gf.  It was covered in dust and had been in that box for nearly a decade.  I chuckled because he had this vaguely horrified look on his face.  I’ve found not so decent pictures of myself with my ex in one of my boxes, and luckily I got rid of those before he saw them!  And yes, he knows I have exes.  But that’s always an awkward moment.

So ladies and any men who are here….when you move, make sure you label the box with pictures in it.  If there are pictures that might be of a more intimate nature, make sure you mark the box so you know what’s in there.  It will save you embarrassment in the future.

When we started dating officially, he had recently  broken things off with a girl he was seeing, and periodically I’d find things of hers around his place. Stupid stuff, like hair ties and a razor.  Didn’t bother me in the slightest.

@TexasSpringBride:  Similar story – my FMIL gave my FI a stack of cards and letters from his exes. He had forgotten to pack them when he moved and for some reason she kept them. We weren’t yet engaged, but FI just ripped them up right then and there and threw them out.

Eh the worst thing I’ve found are pictures and it really didn’t bother me.  They were in an envelope in an old filing drawer that was kind of a catch all for his junk he didn’t know what to do with.  There was one where she was sitting on his lap and it was just a weird reality that he had loved on someone else before me, but the key word is before me!  I knew that he was with me now so even though I didn’t love the notion of him being with someone else, I knew it was his past.  We all have one!  When I see those posts about about bees finding remnants from exes and getting all crazy over it, I just have to giggle to myself!  I mean, unless your man is sneaking off to the closet to read old love letters or gawk over old photos, I just think it’s silly to get all worked up over stuff like that.  He married me, not her, so who cares about some old pictures?!

I found one of his ex’s mini flat irons which happened to come in handy one morning when my bangs were out of control and my flatiron was too big to do the job!

I found a card that another ex made for him that said inside, “I would bleed myself dry for you.” Ok, creepshow. I tossed that shit out real quick.

He has since moved in with me so I don’t find things at all now.

My fiance and his exgf lived together for several years, and when we moved together in a new apartment, I found things he didn’t realize were hers, just mostly books. I was unpacking a box and said “Hey! I didn’t know you had a second baseball mitt!” and then saw her name was written on the side, ha. She left the country after they broke up, so we sold it in a garage sale.

@TexasSpringBride:  Right?! It was completely the opposite of the adorable penguin she drew on the front of the card in crayon. She was a weirdo for sure.

@TexasSpringBride:  Funny, that’s the same scenario I see in my head when I think about her too.

ETA: I don’t dislike her simply because she’s FI’s ex. I dislike her because she is a bad person with an ugly heart and even though I’m glad they broke up because now I have him forever, she still hurt the man I love. And when it comes to people I love, I’m Mama Bear for sure.

@TexasSpringBride:  nothing. He’s so anti-hoarding I think he’s probably discarded things from our relationship as well lol.
