I'd get an entire new bed suite. Bed frame, mattress, sheets, duvet, pillows.
I'd probably keep it if it was in good shape and comfy. I don't really associate inanimate objects with the actions of people so I don't think I'd really think anything of it.
unless there was serious fluids going on all over the mattress it self I don't see why it should be thrown away. I feel if nothing is wrong with it that is very wasteful.
But then again I have never been in this situation...so my opinion may change due to anger.
Affair: He can keep the bed/sheets/mattress because he'll need them in his new apartment.
Prior relationships: new sheets/mattress pad and a healthy realization that we both have a history.
@MissNoodles: For real. And take the crotch stank from the skank with him! GRRRRRRROSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
I would get a new mattress, but if the old "used" mattress was nice, I would donate it.
Affair- He and the mattress would find themselves on the street. But if it was people he slept with prior to us, then I would probably eventually replace it, but wouldn't rush or think of it as a big deal.
It depends on how broke I was! In my current life situation, I'm pretty sure I couldn't afford a new mattress that was as nice so unfortunately..... lol!
@deetroitwhat: haha... "crotch stank from the skank" is like a dirty cousin to "save the drama for your mama"
Probably, especially since it would be bloodstained. You know, since I would kill him and all.
@MissNoodles: hahaha, I picked burn it, BUT, I totally agree with you, he'd need it for when i kicked him out on the street!
That would get anyone uncomfy ewww.. I would get a new mattress, sheets, comorter set, bed etc lol.
Um... I would get rid of the SO. :) If it were my current mattress, I might get rid of that too. But we're talking about buying an organic latex one someday (to the tune of several thousand dollars) and if we had that, I would not get rid of it. ;) I keep the mattress! He could keep the bill.
I'd get rid of it, but would probably give it to Goodwill or something. Someone else who doesn't have a bad memory will get good use out of it. I mean as long as it was a perfectly good mattress why throw it away when there's someone who may need it!

We bought a mattress when we got married, but the thought of SO sleeping with someone else in my bed SERIOUSLY skeeves me out.
If you knew that your spouse had an affair and slept with someone else on your mattress, and you had the option to keep the furniture, house, etc., would you keep the mattress? Or start fresh?
*No this has NOT happened to me, thank goodness!*
