I think the thigh gap only counts IF you have one when your feet are touching. Otherwise it’s just like… your legs, lol.

I wish I had a thigh gap. That is all. Carry on.

@howsweetitis:  +1

@HonoraryNerd:  The only time i had a “gap” when my feet were touching was at a point in my life when i was very unhealthy. Even then, it was barely a gap. I think thighs are part of the natural curve women are meant to have. 🙂

@HonoraryNerd:  yep, thigh gap when feet and knees are together.

This really shouldn’t be a “thing” — it has to do with whether you naturally retain fat in your inner thighs.

@howsweetitis:  I always thought thigh gap counted if you were standing normally, like legs straight down from hips, but not feet together. I think that’s like super thigh gap.

@HonoraryNerd:  Haha, sadly no. I think it has to do with the way your hip sockets are set or something? Or the angle of your pelvis? I read a thing about it once, but I forget all the details. It has more to do with skeletal structure than skinniness (though of course your legs have to be reasonably thin).

@Feist:

Nope!  A thigh gap in the sense that everyone is crazy over is only when feet and knees are together.  They’re overrated and only make it harder for me to warm my hands between my legs!

@HappinessIsInDaisies:  ugh can this thread please not devolve into a “real/natural women have XYZ”? I’m very body positive and think everyone should love themselves, but natural women can be at healthy weights and have a thigh gap. Natural women can also be body builders that look like Arnold Schwartznegger, morbidly obese, or a perfect size 10. Women come in all shapes and sizes, and none are more natural than any other.

@letigre:  Totally agree! You are 100% correct. I didn’t mean it to come across like that.

I was more responding to the above where someone had said they wished they had one. I should have said whatever you are born with is natural – dont try and change it. 🙂

Wait… when your feet AND knees are together? How is that even possible? Your thighs are, like, concave then? Or are your knees really big?

Fuck. Now I have to go do a google search for pics of thigh gaps like a creeper 😛

ETA: OK…. so most of the “thigh gap” pictures I’m seeing it’s not like your thighs don’t tough at all between your vag and your knees… there’s just some spots where they don’t touch. That makes more sense. Still… aint no way that’s ever happening for me.

@HappinessIsInDaisies:  I agree with you! I really don’t think anyone should be trying to get this….it shouldn’t even be a thing! I feel almost guilty admitting I have it because I don’t want it to become a standard at is literally impossible for a large number of women to achieve.

It’s akin to having broad shoulders or a long neck.
