So this is a spinoff of the post about the bridesmaid being asked to invite 80 to the bridal shower she was hosting.
If bridesmaids are hosting the bridal shower, (without contribution from the bride or her family), what is the max number of guests that is reasonable to invite?

My sister (the MOG) was just told her FDIL’s shower will be for 80~100. I almost died. I think it’s 50 too many.

i voted for 20-30 because i think 25 is a good number to invite, and with some no’s bringing it down to 20. that makes it small enough so it’s not so loud and pricey, yet big enough if you’re into the whole “games” thing (which i am!)

whoops, I didn’t read the part that says that only bridesmaids are hosting the shower without contribution from others.
I had voted for “no limit” because I totally enjoy small showers with just close family and friends, but it’s pretty common in my FI’s circle to have large showers, so I think that showers are whatever you want them to be. But the large showers are usually hosted with contributions from both sides of the family. If BMs are hosting, I totally would not expect that they would be able to financially support such a large party! especially if it’s just 1 BM – 10-20 would probably be a good size. or however many people will fit in my apartment seems good =P
