Boo, I deleted the photos I had of him trying it on.

It’s a Jean Yves tux in steel grey, just the fullback vest and flat front pants (the flat front was a MUST), and then a white shirt. They’ll be wearing ties that we purchase (pink and grey for FI, black with white pindots for the guys, pink bowties for his younger brother and dad) and black Chuck Taylors (because the rental shoes were hideous and they all own them). We were able to rent by the piece, so the total with tax was $90.

@bretonvirgniia:  lol. I wouldn’t say ours was 100% positive. XD We paid for one suit, they didn’t have it, and it took a couple of weeks for us to be able to go through the rest of our options because they had to order them in from another city. We ened up wwith a suit that is much much darker than we wanted. However, it came in under budget, and no one died. 😐 So I’m just trying to not think about the suit that should have been. 😛

He’s buying his. It’s from a store called Suit Supply. He’ll purchase it for $469 (plus tax and alterations). He already owns the black bow tie, but wants to puchase a new shirt and whole cut shoes, which, together, will probably come to another $400-500. He’ll wear his tuxedo again, since we live in DC and I work in museums, so galas are pretty expected for our schedule. Here’s the model in his preferred tuxedo.

I don’t have a picture, but we got a dark grey Calvin Klein suit for $400, it was 30% off so we jumped on it.

@ArtDecoDC:  Try replacing his shoe laces with a flat silk ribbon.

My hubby got his vest and ascot from Gentlemen’s Emporium online. It was super classy! Then we got him a nice suit at Bon Ton on sale for $150! It was a Kenneth Cole.

@bretonvirgniia:  Agreed! He dressed up as Nikola Tesla one halloween and wore and ascot…from that day on I told him he must wear an ascot if/when we get married. So he did! So classy 🙂
