MsHedgehog's dinner post made me hungry, and ready to go home and make dinner, but I didn't want to threadjack with the question of what everyone else was doing. So... what are you doing tonight?

Tonight is FI's training night, and we hate going out on actual holidays like V-day because it's so hard to get a table, so we're having a late dinner at home. Barring a kitchen catastrophe, I'm making:

    Appetizer: Veggie portabella mushroom bake

Main: Tequila Lime shrimp and steamed veggies

Dessert: Cayenne chocolate souffles with sliced strawberries

We're going to a cooking class hosted by James Briscione (Chopped winner!) and Brooke Parkhurst.  Really looking forward to it, but not sure what's on the menu.  Then drinks/snacks afterwards at a wine bar in our neighborhood.

    Ohhh! Fun!

We are having garlic asparagus, roast potatoes and steak for dinner and then a chocolate truffle cheese cake for dessert with some nice white wine (mostly because I'm allergic to red).

Even though we are going out for a Valentine's Day/Anniversary/FI's 30th birthday dinner on the weekend, I felt I had to make up for the fact that I was REALLY sick yesterday, which was our two year anniversary, and am still fairly sick today.

Wow, my dinner sounds so boring compared to you two!

We are having leftover homemade chicken & lentil soup (I made it Sunday). We are both working 12 hour days today so it needs to be something quick :)

Edit:We are going out Saturday night for our special Valentines dinner!

oh my gosh, so jealous! My husband works two-three nights a week (he is a professor, and teaches night classes occasionally), and tonight happens to be the night he isn't off until 10pm. So we aren't doing anything.. We haven't ever had a v-day together, we were long distance during our engagement, and the last two years he's had to work. (sighs) Ah well :)

So for dinner... I will probably have soup... or pasta... You ladies have fun! your meals sounds awesome!

I have creole chicken in the crock pot. We'll have it with brown rice, broccoli and a ceasar salad.

Filet mignon with red wine mushroom sauce, twice baked potatoes, and mini lollipop desserts! We only bust out the red meat for special occasions so I'm excited :)

Going to Union Trust in Philadelphia for filet and macaroni and cheese. Meat and carbs are my favorite! Hopefully followed up with orange creamsicle cheesecake. I've been wanting to try it there for ages!

We're having fondue! We have a bunch of different dippers and lots of cheese :) I also made chocolate peanut butter brownies for dessert. I'm sure there will be some wine involved, too!

    I have NO idea!

We are meeting a friend who is in town for work (without her husband) for a drink. We were going to go to dinner with her too (just somewhere low key) but she had a client dinner scheduled last minute.

I'm pretty sure we'll either end up at our local pub for dinner or ordering indian food.

We are leaving in 2 days for our honeymoon, so V-day was going to be low key anyway. Although we are still acknowledging it since it is our 8 year dating anniversary.

Meal: Chicken, potato au gratin and sauteed spinash

Dessert: hmm..pick up something from the bakery

    and champagne...LOTS of champagne!!!

@MissPumpkinPie:  Me too! I'm cooking for one tonight and it seemed like an easy enough recipe to make into a smaller portion.  :)

@LuckyJuls:  the food is fabulous there!

nothing special tonight (we went out last night).  i'm actually using the meat from a left over rotisserie chicken and wonton wrappers to make "chicken parmesan wraps."  we'll have garlicky greens on the side.  for dessert i'm attempting nutella cookies.

    Main: wild mushroom risotto

Desert: warm chocolate and goat cheese brownies w/ homemade whisky icecream

And, lots of red wine! Can't wait!

@newenglandgirl:  We're having steak and mac and cheese too!

FI picked up some fillets from the butcher and I'm making my popular spicy mac and cheese with corn, jalapenos, red peppers, and pepperjack. We are also probably going to have green beans or asparagus and pots de crème for dessert!

We're doing filets and lobster over the fire pit, our VDay tradition. We don't like going out because of the waiting/crowds/busy restaurants. CAN'T WAIT!

Getting ready to cook together......raw oysters and little neck clams to start, then mussels in a white wine garlic sauce over pasta, all from the fish market. Dessert is a surprise.....vodka infused chocolate covered strawberries.....yum!

I just made the best steaks I've ever made! I'm so excited I've finally got it down to a science! We had the steaks with mashed potatoes and gravy, pretzel rolls, and wine. Followed by chocolate cake for dessert. Best dinner I've had in a WHILE considering we've been eating on a major budget due to the wedding.

I found a recipe for caramelized chicken, but didn't want to use all of my honey that we got in NJ on one dish.

I found an alternative, and it was DELICIOUS.  I showed it to my brother to ask if he could suggest any additions, and he said it sounded tasty.  I couldn't stop telling him how tasty it was.  I think next time I may add more, cracked, pepper.

Then FI and I had some of his chocolate, since I gave him so much for angry pink heart day.

For the first time ever DH is taking me to a restaurant on Vday. We never go out on the actual day but I think because its our first married Vday he is taking me out. We normally do it another day the week before or after.

As an aside, I am so mad! My present that I got him didnt come in time. :(

I have no idea. =)  My husband is out of town for work (as usual for this time of year), so I'm just about to head to the grocery store to find something.  Nothing I have at home sounds particularly exciting.
