    A+… not sure what that entails, but I remember learning it as a kid and thinking as if I got the best grade. Lol.

    I’m O+, so, can get blood from O- and O+, and can give blood to any positive blood type.

    @Laurenskii:  me too! we’re the sol folks. Can’t give blood to anyone but us, can’t take blood from anyone but us And o-. Luckily, FI is o-! We discovered all this when I learned about rh incompatibility and I asked our parents. My mom knew mine is ab- his mom knew that she, her husband and FI’s sister are all A+ But she thought he might be o something and turns out he snuck a recessive – out of there too! So random.

    Did you know only .5% of the population is ab-? We’re special 😛

    @lalalyanne:  I did know that! Apparently that was the first thing my doctor commented on when he spoke to my mother was that I had the rarest blood type in the world haha!

    I do wonder about the rh incompatibility when I start TTC because my FI doesn’t know his blood type haha

    I’m O- so I can give blood to everyone but only receive it from other O-. My dad is O- as well so hopefully if I’m ever in a bind he can donate for me 😉

    @Ninteenthchance:  Yeah, me too, constant calls, emails, and letters.  It may be common, but they still can’t get enough of it!

    @Follydust321:

      @Ninteenthchance:

    I have this problem with plasma. It’s honestly annoying…when I moved from Texas to PA it took me telling 8(!!!!) different people there that I live 2,000 miles away and I won’t be donating there anymore until they stopped calling.

    @Laurenskii:

    @Follydust321:   I ended up telling them I was pregnant because I couldn’t take the harassment!!!! Since then though this actually is my second pregnancy and I’ve gotten several tattoos so it disqualifies me for an entire year. It’s honestly annoying how the behave!

    @Laurenskii:  find out!! It’ll be in his birth records, ask his mom 😉 or when you ttc, ask the doctors, they could give him a blood test! Although your dr will probably bring it up. From what I understand, there are very rarely complications with the first one because your body doesn’t have any immunity built up to the rh factor yet. It’s when it comes to more babies down the road, if your body has developed an immunity then the problems happen.

    There are definitely interventions now (specifically the rhogam shot) that prevent complications, it not so much of an issue anymore as long as you know ahead of time!
