The poll isn’t up but I will type out my answer. Absolutely not. I love my girls and I never took into account their appearance. My girls range in size between 24 and 2. I don’t know how anyone could be that shallow.

No, never. My maids are all awesome for who they are, not how they look. (although, they’re pretty damn hot)

@aliciaspinnet:  I chose my bridesmaids based on who my best friends are. The fact that they are all beautiful is coincidental.

@aliciaspinnet: You should totally add pregnant to the poll! And maybe gender? But I picked my bridesmaids and bridesguys based on freindship/family. I tower over my MOH (I’m a full foot taller than her!) but that did not stop her from asking be to be her MOH and it didn’t stop me from asking her.

I literally don’t understand the mindset behind not choosing someone to be a bridesmaid based on how they look. If you’re close enough to a girl that you’d even consider asking her to be a BM but it comes down to the fact that you don’t like how they look so you end up not asking them, that makes you a big ol’…not nice person.

My gosh… I can’t believe people actually wouldn’t pick someone based on their appearance. My picks were solely based on my friendships with my BMs and I would never reject someone as a BM due to their appearance.

Well frankly I think all my girls are gorgeous. Some are skinnier than me, some are bigger than me. Some have visible tattoos and piercings, and one in particular is planning on dyeing her purple and has been fantasizing about getting a mohawk. I could fecking care less if she got a mohwak before our wedding and I’ve told her so. It’s her hair. My parents would probably disapprove but they’ll get over it lol. Another bridesmaid was worried about getting pregnant to which I immediately assured her that I have not and would not expect anyone to plan their family planning around the wedding. That’s just ridiculous.

I asked my girls because we have been there for each other through hell – otherwise known as an all-girls’ high school – and various other milestones, achievements and hardships. I want them up there with me because I love and trust them – not because of how they look.

The only appearance based decision I would make is if someone is uncomfortable doing it.  They might not want the spotlight on them, formal pictures, etc. especially if something fairly new had a huge impact on their appearance.

@aliciaspinnet:  To be honest, I would probably not pick someone pregnant, especially if due date was around my wedding. But that has nothing to do with appearances, it’s just I’m not sure she could be involved in the planning as she would have her own to take care of.

I wouldn’t pick a man, but aside from that, I wouldn’t care about my girls’ appearance!
