I was a work today and asked my coworkers if they would pick their dog over a stranger.
Someone then asked this question and I was very interested in the answers they got:
If you are in a mall shooting, the madman has one more bullet and is pointing the gun directly at a 8 year old boy…
Would you jump infront of him?
If you don’t the boy will die
If you do, you may or may not live

@abc123joanna: I don’t know – I was voted to save my dog in the previous thread, and I also said I wouldn’t risk my life to save a stranger in another spin-off thread, but it is totally different when a child is involved. I honestly do not know what I would do.

I’d take the hit. It’s a freaking kid! I did answer in another thread that I wouldn’t sacrifice myself for a stranger though. I’d do everything I could to help the stranger, but I wouldn’t kill myself. However, kids are a different story.

I honestly think that’s a situation you don’t know what you would do until you’re in it. Either your fight or flight will win, and depending on the circumstances, you might not even realize what is going on.

I want to say that I would take the bullet for him, because in my heart that is what I would want to do. But in reality, the sight of a gun terrifies me. I would probably cry and run and hide as fast as I could 🙁

@Lyndzo: That’s how I feel too. I just can’t predict what I’d do in reality. I feel like I’d be so scared that I would probably run before I even realized there was a kid who needed help.
