I would save my child (don’t have any yet) because they’re a child.  My husband is an adult and should be able to take care of himself.  But more than that, I think he would want me to save our child too.  That’s what I would want him to do if he had to choose between me or our child.

I dont have any children. But they would come first, always always always. In fact if my FI said he didnt want kids- my future/only in my thoughts kids would still come first and we would not be getting married lol! And if my FI ever picked me over one of our “future” children- I would never forgive him. Children come first. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS.

My husband would never forgive me if I saved him over our children.

DH and I don’t have children, but it’s pretty much an unspoken rule that if one of us had to choose between saving eachother or our children, it would most definitely be the children.

Well I’m going against the grain here but I’d save my husband!

I don’t have a child yet but I’m pregnant. Without ever having been in that situation, I’d save my child. My child will depend on me to care for them and keep them safe. My husband is an adult who is better equipped than a child is to take care of himself.

I think this is a situation though where you don’t truly know what you would do until you are in that situation. I think a lot of people who say they’d save their husband over their child would find themselves doing the opposite when in that moment when pure instinct kicks in.

I’m not Catholic so someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Catholic teaching is to save your spouse so you can continue procreation.  So, that may have something to do with people’s beliefs.

@kgirl91:  I am confused as to why you put that option up there to begin with if even you don’t know what it means.

What about folks who vote to save the child even if they don’t have any? I wonder if that should be an option?

Anyway, I voted: Husband, we don’t have kids.
