So just seeing some other threads this past week made me think about the Karma theory… Such as being an organ donor, helping the old lady across the street, rescueing helpless animals, donating to less fortunate causes, etc, etc,…. Do you believe that doing GOOD for others comes back around to good in your life? On the other hand, there is also bad Karma. Do you believe that when you lie, cheat, steal, etc, etc,… that something bad will come back around to you? Im curious on both sides! Please feel free to explain why you chose YES, or why you say NO. Im truly curious bees!!

@Barbiestylez: I do! I definitely believe that you should put out into the world what you want to recieve back.

Not in Karma per se, but a similar concept I do definitely.

I believe in the fact that if you put ~~Good Vibes~~ out into the world / universe, those go forward like ripples in a pond and come back to you…
And if you put out UGLY VIBES then you get that back in aces as well.
I’ve said it often on WBee…
Karma is a B!tch… she has a very long memory. She will come back to haunt anyone who messes up the harmony of the universe.

I don’t believe in karma. But I think when you continually act selfishly and with malicious intent, it’s bound to bite you in the ass at some point.

I voted that I’m conflicted. Do I believe in karma to the same extent that Hare Krishna’s believe in karma? No. I don’t actually believe that good or bad deeds will boomerang back to me.
However, I live my life as though karma exists. I try to do good deeds, and be a good person. I sometimes sacrifice some of my own luxuries to help others with my time, money, or other resources. I don’t do these things because I want similar good things to happen to me, but I find that helping others does make me a happier person overall.

First of all, I’d like to mention that Western thoughts on Karma are very different than Eastern thoughts on it. But I don’t know that much about it, and I’m sure you’re asking from a Western perspective, which is my perspective as well 🙂
I voted Conflicted, because I’m not 100% sure of any of my beliefs regarding anything supernatural, but over all I’d like to say yes. I believe that the universe tries to favor those who do good over those who do not and those who do bad, but unfortunately it’s far from all powerful, so sometimes bad things happen to good people, and good things happen to bad people.

I don’t believe in it at all.

I’m not an especially spiritual person, but I do believe in doing the right thing and giving back to others, when possible. I think paying it forward will come back around. But I’m also aware that bad thigns happen to good people all the time. I’m definitely conflicted!

No, not in some kind of supernatural way.
But I do notice that very selfish people are miserable (they feel very hollow and that’s a strong pain you can see in their eyes sometimes, even though they work hard to push it away). It’s because they are missing one of the fundamental keys to joy in life, which is being compassionate and caring as well as being cared for. Without this, there’s always a sense that something’s missing, but they never seem to believe that the something missing could be something that “cheesy,” so they keep themselves miserable.
But, I don’t believe in letting people get away with something because “karma will get them,” (no. WE have to make them face the consequences), and I especially don’t believe that if something bad happens to someone, they probably deserved it. I know a lot of terrible things happen to people who don’t deserve it at all…sometimes even tiny children.

I don’t believe in karma, but I still believe I should do what I can for other people when it’s within my means.
I kind of wish I believed in karma, because then I’d believe all these assholes I know would get what’s coming to them 😉
