I’ve been real stalked. Not Weddingbee stalked. All forms are scary… and a complete and utter violation.

@KC-2722:  Same here…was stalked IRL by an old neighbor when I was single and living on my own. Super scary and extremely violating, regardless of the medium!

Not that I know of. But I had a creepy awkward real life stalker in university. He was this socially inept weirdo that lived on my floor in residence.

I am a nanny, and I do some babysitting work on the side. I usually find my jobs through a website, and I’ve never had an issues with a family that I’ve met through those means. I received a phone call from a friend of one of my babysitting contacts asking if I could come in for a week or two while she did some work. I said yes, but I sort of immediately had bad feelings about the whole situation when I walked into their home. It smelled, there were beer bottles everywhere, etc., but I decided to hold up my end of the bargain and continue working for the two weeks since I didn’t want to ruin my relationship with the family that recommended me.

After the two weeks were over she asked me to come over on a regular basis (once a week). I continued to sit for her, but things were just getting weird. She told me how she was trying to hide the fact that she smokes and drinks while breast feeding from her husband. My last straw was when I babysat while she prepared for a party, and ended up having to stay late because she wasn’t watching her kids around the open swimming pool. I finally just told her I would be busy for the next few weeks, and I would contact her when I was able to sit again. She kept contacting me about babysitting, and I eventually just started ignoring her because it was freaking me out.

She then started Googling my name, and she found my DAD’s cell phone number and called him. She told him that she found his number through Google, but when I googled my name the only phone # I found was my parents’ home phone, but you had to pay a website to get the full phone number. I don’t know what the heck she did to find my dad’s number, but it freaked me out. She then started calling my mom to see when I could babysit for her again. My mom just told her not to contact any of us because she was freaking us all out WTF. I don’t think I’ll ever babysit for another family that is recommended to me!

I was several years ago when I was in college and had a MySpace page.  I’m not sure if it was a guy or girl but it was someone from my school because they knew EVERYTHING I did, like they were always watching me.  It creeped me out!  At first I thought it was one of my friends playing a joke but it wasn’t.  I stopped going on that sight but for months I was constantly watching my back and anxious of every move I made.  Not fun!

I haven’t been SERIOUSLY cyber-stalked, just the run of the mill someone else looking through my Facebook photos and such. This girl FI used to see (not actually a gf/bf relationship) got very jealous when he started dating me, looked through all my Facebook photos, and then tried to trash-talk me to a mutual friend of her and my FI. It was a weird experience for me to hear that because I’m pretty sure I’ve never been interesting enough for someone to want to Facebook-stalk before!!
