I've noticed in other threads that many people have Vera Bradley or Kate Spade diaper bags.  Can anyone recommend their under $60 or so diaper bag?  Thanks!!!!  Oh and the more "gender neutral" the better since the hubs does not want to carry a girly bag!

Things that are most important to me are durability, a non-attached but included changing pad, and easy access (not a thin bag toppling over, or one that has a too narrow opening).

    Thanks!!!

If you like the Vera Bradley bags, I know some of the older colors always seem to be on sale for $50-$60.

My Vera Bradley bag was a gift, but it was definitely under $60.  I got one of the sale colors, which I liked better than any of the full-price colors anyways.

This bag is $69 and from Babies R' Us. I realized after a short period of time that having a bag you can wear crossed over your body is super important to me. Trying to carry a baby carrier with a big diaper bag falling off of your shoulder is the most awkward and aggrivating thing ever. DH and I both agreed that even though there's a pattern on it, he would still feel comfortable carrying it, if he had to

My husband will not carry a Vera Bradley bag, so unfortunately that is not an option!  I like the idea of a cross body bag.

@heathaah:  Timbuk2 has great bags, I used to have a messenger laptop bag from them. Timbuk2 has totes that I think would make great diaper bags.  They start just above $60 ($75) but you can customize the colors and patterns.  I think the customization is worth some extra $$

@heathaah:  Chiming in as another with a Vera Bradley sale bag.  If you will be the primary one using it AND you like them, you shouldn't count it out just yet.

My husband doesn't have a problem carrying it, because as he says "It's obvious it's not MY bag", but if he did, we were also looking at one of the plain black Jeep Nylon ones.  It's manly for him, and it's more durable, so we would take it places where we didn't want mine to get messed up.

ohhh what about this one for your little girl, I think I may get it myself!  DH would totally feel cool with either of these bags. (they come in black and pink too if you dont like the grey)

@panterapeach:  I was eyeing up those bags on Amazon.

I'm leaning toward a messenger-style bag for comfort, and maybe getting DH his own diaper backpack so he doesn't complain when I want to get something uber-girly for myself. I figure a $10 Target backpack will fulfill his diapering bag needs.

I'm buying this JJ Cole one from Amazon! I really wanted one that looked like a purse rather than a diaper bag. It's $72.

@Quietserenity:  That's what I tell him when he refuses to hold my purse in public!  No one is going to think it is his!!  But he just has a huge issue with it and it makes me nuts!!

I think we are stuck with black or gray.

I am thinking about this one...

I have that one but with a pattern. The only thing I don't like about it is if you don't put it across your body, it definitely falls off your shoulder. But if you put it across, problem solved. I'd recommend it!

@heathaah:  I think that's the one we got as our "his" diaper bag. I forget right now (pregnant brain!), but my mom ended up getting me a kate spade diaper bag that she saw on ruelala or something for an incredibly cheap price (>50%off), and before our shower she told me that my diaper bag was kind of girly if we wanted to register for a different one for DH. So we will have two, not sure if we'll just mostly use the black one when we're together and I'll use the other one when I'm out on my own or what, but we'll figure it out. The one you posted is very roomy and I think we'll be happy with it.

I didn't use an actual diaper bag. As a gift, my mother bought me a very large black on black Coach bag. It had several pockets and a separated middle section and worked wonderfully. I know Coach is above the $60 limit but I just wanted to say that you can think outside the box on this one. Try to find something that has at least a few compartments.
