yeah, that’s a jamaica thing! I don’t think it’s a thing in the US. I’ve seen threads about it from DWs though.

@QueenOfSerendip:  im pretty sure if I were gonna be hitting the big 3-0 single than I would most definitely be a hopeless old maid if you are considered a spinster at 23 :  lol

I like how your careers are listed as your Calling.
I feel like that’ve very frustrating or empowering, depending on how you feel about your job haha 😛

And being a spinster is your Condition? That makes it sound like a medical issue, haha
“What condition is she in?”
“Spinster.”
“Hmm… we’ve got to get this girl married, STAT!”

Lol before I even opened this I knew it was Jamaica related!! I got married in Jamaica in 2007 and I remember thinking the exact same thing when I saw the marriage certificate.

It’s a pretty certificate though hey?!

Lol, that would be getting framed and displays prominently at my house.. And all of my house guests could get a good laugh everytime they came over. That’s hilarious.

Oh wow, how rude. Haha I guess not in Jamaica though. I remember travelling to Central America wayyyy before I was ready to get married (26) and the guys who would hit on me there would often ask if I was married after they asked my age, and when I would say no, they would try to comfort me and tell me that they think I’m pretty enough anyway that probably I still have a chance to find someone to marry me, lol

By the way, these guys woud often be around 22-26 themselves, with a wife and 3 kids at home (no shame on their part admitting that as thry’d continue to hit on me).

Apparently marrying early, but being unfaithful, was really normal for them.
