dress: i am so in love right now with a lhuillier, but in the grand scheme of things, i think i will pass unless i get an absolute bargain. it’s from her fall 2009 line, so i am going to fly to la in jan to see if she has it at her annual sale. i have friends and fam in la, so i can make it more than just a discount dress search…..lol. if not, i will just look for another one. i’ve seen family and friends get married in a 200.00 gown and a 10,000.00 gown and they all looked beautiful.

invitations: i love paper. the more i thought of what was really important to me and Fiance, this did not make the top 3. so, i think i can find something without breaking the bank.

flowers: i love flowers. it hink they’re beautiful! i knew they’d be expensive, but i figured i could just donate them to a nursery home, if there were any left that guests didn’t take. like the invitations, flowers did not make the top 3, so i am coming up with other ideas. i will have a clay bouquet. bm’s will have a clutch with a detachable floral or jeweled brooch (they are so excited about this since it is stylish and practical

now they don’t have to worry about where to put their purses, plus they can use it again!). and, if we do get gifts, i plan to donate 1/3 to charity, so i can still make my charitable contributions. i also plan on making a charitable donation on behalf of my guests.

Was going to get beautiful thermographed invitations, then when the vendor told me they could either do 50 or 75, and not 60 like I needed, decided to switch to digital which they could do 60 of – and am so happy I saved the difference because everyone loved them anyway and I don’t think anyone would have cared!!

I can’t vote because I haven’t actually put any money down on any of those things yet haha, but just wanted to let you know I am in the same boat with the rain KateMW. We are probably getting the same rainy stuff, it’s been like this for a couple days here.

I’m from the Panama City Beach area, though I am living right now smack inbetween PCB and Tallahassee which are both an hour away. It’s not too bad seeing how I am starting at FSU next month, so the drive won’t be too terrible haha.

I’ve been to Seaside a few times, it’s really pretty there, though I think we are lucky that almost everywhere around here is pretty. Tongue out

I thought I would spend alot more money on the food and drink but it ended up being a lot less.  Partly because we had less people that expected, but also because the package we chose, we eliminated alot of stuff (wine on the tables because we had an open bar, gourmet coffee because we were fine with regular coffee, things like that)

Our venue cost less than I expected. It wasn’t exactly a splurge to save, it was just a “we can get all this for that little money? SOLD!”

Honeybunny, small world – I’m from Panama City too!

well, i voted shoes b/c that’s the only thing I have right now!  🙂  totally thought I wanted the Choo’s, Louboutin’s, Blahnik’s, Atwood’s, etc……..but decided I need to come back down to earth and found a fabulous pair at Steve Madden instead!

Make-up! I checked into having my make-up done professionally but I just can’t justify spending that much money for just a few hours!

Dress, shoes, and invites.  Those will be the splurge.

But I love to wrangle a good deal.  haggling is my es-peciality!!!  You should see me haggle when in mexico or jamaica at the open air markets.  I’ll find a discount somewhere, for most things!  T is pretty good at that too!

I thought I was going to purchase an extravagent dress with lots of lace, a sleeve detail, fitted, and in ivory. I ended up with a BARGAIN dress with only a button detail down the back, strapless, ballgown, and white white! But I LOVE it and I especially loved the price. It has freed up so much of our budget to spoil our friends and family… not just me.
