We’re creating a Spotify playlist to use for our wedding. We have a pay subscription, so no ads. Has anyone done this? Any tips?
We’re starting at 8 p.m. and plan to be wrapped up by 1 a.m. at the very latest (probably closer to 12). How many songs should we put on there?
We borrowed a bunch of other people’s playlists to make a master list that we’re paring down. We’ve gone from 640 to 440 already just cutting duplicates and songs in other languages or with “explicit” tags. How much more cutting should we do?
Simple bonus question: How do you randomize your playlist in Spotify?

we’re doing this too, for the final, “dancing” part of the evening. Using “my wedding” on my iPhone from the cocktail hour, up through dinner. Unfortunately, I just moved to a country that doesn’t support spotify, so I have to get a VPN (which makes it look like I’m using a US-based IP address) in order to start crafting my list.
Looking forward to hearing suggestions too!

this is our plan too. my brother has done it for almost every family function in the past few years, and it works out really, really well.
@jmarvellous: will you be using spotify on a phone or computer? i know in my spotify window on my computer, there’s a little icon that looks like two arrows that intercross. that’s the shuffle button.

@colorofmyheart: A computer. I don’t want to have it on a device that people will want to use for anything else. I’ll have to find that button.
