I am a regular poster going anon due to the sensitive nature of this post.
Are there any bees who are in the US on a spousal visa, preferably of British nationality?
My question is: during the visa interview, how were you asked to document your marriage aside from the certificate itself. I have been married for just over a year and DH is planning on moving to the states to do his doctorate. I wish to accompany him as his wife. We had a very simple wedding (after being together for 4 years) with no family and two friends as witnesses. We had a photographer, but the pictures are just of us and witnesses, signing the register, and our dinner at a restaurant afterwards.
I have heard that you have to provide wedding invitations, guest lists and full photo albums etc and am freaking out as we didn’t do all of that! Also, due to our work situations, we are currently long distance and have no shared address etc
I’m freaking out that they will refuse our visa on the grounds that we are not a genuine couple. Will the few photos we have of the wedding and off all 5 years of relationship suffice, as well as witness statements, phone bill etc be enough?
I hope I am panicking for nothing, but any bees who have been there, could you let me know how your experience was?
From an eternally grateful Bee!
