I’m thinking about getting a spray tan (done by hand) several days before the wedding to give me a bit more color. (Probably on Wednesday evening.) What should I do about my nails? I’m worried if I get a mani/pedi after I tan, the exfoliation that the nail salon does will take lighten the tan on my lower legs / forearms. But, I’m not sure that I want to get a mani/pedi that early for my Saturday wedding! (Although, I am considering doing shellac so it wouldn’t be as big of a deal, I suppose?)
Any thoughts from the pro spray tanners?

@KMoon5314: If you get Shellac done by a good place– you should have no problems at all.
If you prefer to get your nails done after the fact, just have them apply polish and not do the whole exfoliation/lotion/etc…..
That’s what my sister and I did for her wedding. We got a spray tan on Wed, and got our nails done Thursday morning. It worked out great- both toes and fingers.
Also, just making sure you’ve thought about the spray tan in full– I wanted to get one SOOOOO bad for my wedding because it was in November and I was pasty. But I read too many horror stories of the tan rubbing off on the outside of teh dress– under the arms, or your arms rubbing on the dress, etc…. and that would be REALLY unattractive. Everytime I’ve had a spray tan, it turns out I’ve always worn darker color clothing. My sister didn’t really have a problem with the tan rubing off on the outside of her dress– it fully covered her bust, but then dipped down towards the back enough where she would have been safe regardless. But she did say it was all over the inside of the gown.

I got my nails done for my wedding on Wednesday and then got an airbrush tan thursday morning. My nails were still great on my wedding day. Also, I did not have any of my spray tan rub off on my dress at all. Of course I worse dark clothing to get the tan done, but after I showered none of it rubbed off on my clothing.

@KMoon5314: If you get the tan done by hand it should not come off unless your tanner did not do it right.
If you do get exfoliation it should not take that much color off unless you don’t let it dry properly.
