I had one for my wedding.

Before you go, exfoliate! After you have it done, wear loose fitting clothes and don’t do anything stenous to make it rub off and after you shower, moisturise! That is it! Pretty simple, and the results can be amazing!

I love it, but make sure to do it at least the day before.  I turned so orange the day of!  It looks great.

@brew2b:  are you going to a booth ( like VersaSpa or Mystic Tan) or having applied by a professional? That could make a huge difference.

Booths are tricky, because it can be hit or miss in regards to the even application of the tan. Hands almost always get a slightly browner tint than the rest ( even if you use barrier cream) and if it is not cared for properly by the staff, the nozzle where the solution comes out can clog and cause the spray to be applied unevenly.

A professional can apply it and also see where spots need to be covered or gone over more. I am huge advocate for it if you can find it in your area! Also– many use organic products ( you an ask before you book) and that means that the wax used in the booth spray is not there, which can aggravate sensitive skin.

So, there’s my .02 on which one to go with!

1) exfoliate and do not put on lotion prior to your session

2) wear loose clothing and also darker color materials so that if the tan comes off, it is not on white/light colored clothes

3) I suggest going tomorrow– since it will give the color time to tone down. The first 48 hours can be intense! Especially if you’re fairer skinned!

4)moisturize daily after the initial spray to help it last as long as possible!

@brew2b:  haha… ok cool! I get booth sprays occasionally if I just don’t really care about precision and just want all over color.

This is my latest color from a spray tanning session a few days ago ( sorry- it seems super conceited… but I took this pic as a “progress picture” from a new workout I am doing to see results, but it does show the tan a little and it doesn’t look orange-y IMO)

I would recommend an airbrush tan if you’re a novice.  It’s a little more expensive, but I think worth the extra cost.
