Wear loose clothes! and be very careful of your hands and or any dry skin spots you have they will be much darker!. Take a shower right before you go if you can. Dont wear make up/ any sprays lotions or deoderant until after.

Definitely shower before you go and exfoliate.  Don’t shower for at least 8 hours afterwards and don’t do anything that will make you sweat.  Also, just moisturize daily and you should keep it looking good for about a week.  Also…if it looks way darker than what you thought don’t freak out.  Most of it will wash off when you shower for the first time.

What kind of spray tan are you getting?

I got a Mystic tan once and I hated it. You could tell that I was just sprayed front and back. Maybe I didn’t rub it in right, I don’t know. One thing I didn’t know before I went is that you are supposed to moisturize after you get the tan to keep the skin healthy, but there are a bunch of brands you are not supposed to use- something about a certain ingredient. Wherever you get your spray tan done will probably give you a list of approved lotions.

Use the lotion/protector they give you for your feet & hands carefully!  I didn’t use enough and the soles of my feet looked like I walked through the mud (and it lasted a REALLY long time on my feet!!!)

Definitely wear loose/dark clothing after you get your tan and don’t shower for 8 hours.  The bronzer in the spray will rub off on your clothes and sheets, but it washes out easily.  Also, don’t freak out.  There’s a bronzer in the spray which is a lot darker than the actual tan will be.  Once you shower, the bronzer will come off.  Make sure when you shower you, you do a good job washing creases, as that’s where the bronzer is likely to build up.  Elbows are my big problem area.  Also, if you can, try to dry off a little (air dray or blow-dry, don’t rub) before you put your clothes on after the tan.

Def. exfoliate before you go – shave your legs & erm, other areas too if you want. Make sure you put the blocker on your hands & bottoms of your feet. Wear your hair up & back really well maybe use a headband (I had a few loose strands on my face that ended up looking like lines). Make sure you PAT not WIPE with the towel when you get out of the booth.

I usually go later at night then just go home, sleep & shower in the morning. I second what Laura says – don’t worry if you’re too dark too after the 1st shower. The 1st time I went I went in at a level 3, I’m pretty fairskinned and I thought I was too dark – multiple showers’ll get it out to your desired tone. Don’t freak when you see the water in the shower all muddy too. That happens.

Good luck! Please come back & let us know how it goes/how you feel.

EXFOLIATE!!!!! That makes it last longer and lets it set into your skin.
