There have been a couple mentions about pages not loading correctly on part 5 anymore, so . . . time to continue the conversation on part 6!

    And our google doc!

Lots of gender scans coming up in the next couple of weeks, I'd like for us to keep it updated, so we can keep track!

I missed a WHOLE part! AAARRRRRGGHHHHH... I spent a few days feeling bad and then a few more days away and got so far behind it scared me to open the thread. lol

Things have been much better over here though... yay for NO MORE MS!

AND I FINALLY got to hear the heartbeat today! Everything sounds fantastic!

And I added "team green" to us for our google doc! I'm pretty sure we've officially decided to NOT find out! *eek*

OH OH.... And my midwife suggested a solution for my acne! 2 Wild Yam capsules a day and some natural home made almond soap! She's been using it with her momma's and even her daughter for YEARS with GREAT results!

Hope all is well with the rest of your ladies!

@Rosie Girl: I can't WAIT for the hiccups! It's the one thing that my mind immediately went to when I got my bfp.... remembering when DS would have them.

@amnystik: I am so unbelievably jealous.  I am 17w today, and my morning sickness is hanging on for dear life.  I'm starting to wonder if I'll be one of those women that have it until they deliver.

At least DH knows the routine now--I wake up, go to the bathroom, and I won't say a word to him until I've eaten.  For awhile he just thought I was cranky, but in reality, I keep my teeth clenched together so I don't throw up!

@Quietserenity: I'm just over 19wks now, and still am getting randomly sick. I will be fine and go days, then BAM! out of no where I get sick! It really sucks becuase I was NEVER sick with my first! I hope we both get rid of it, it really sucks!

@amnystik: I saw your bump pic on the last thread, and I have to admit I am super jealous! My belly is so low, and I feel the baby extremeley low, like almost in my crotch! I just hope it raises up soon! Maybe I should have worked my muscles better after DS!

@Rosie Girl: @Quietserenity: I'm still only 15 weeks, but definitively in my 2nd trimester, and I thought for sure I would be done with morning sickness by now.  Are you ladies feeling any better at all?  I'm definitely doing better than at 10-12 weeks, but the morning sickness is still hanging in there, especially if I try not taking my Zofran for a day.  Yesterday was one of those days, and let's just say that I ended up projectile vomiting my cheerios back up after trying to eat them for breakfast.  Not my finest moment.

For those of you who are farther along, when did you start feeling movement?  I can't wait for that part!

Just wanted to update post ultrasound today - I was 10w3d as per my last ultrasound, so I was concerned that they wouldn't be able to do the NT scan (not sure why they even booked me that early!), and sure enough they couldn't, so I have to make the 3 hour trek back to the nearest big city to have it done a week friday.

We did get a good long look at Ziggy - now known as Ziggly Wiggly! Baby was wiggling like crazy in there, waving around its little mini-arms and crossing its little leg buds, and stretching out when we "bounced" it, it measured at 11w1d today, and had a heart rate of 168. We got a CD of pictures, I will post one of the profile, and one of Ziggly-Wiggly shaking his fist at me (I would shake my fist too, if someone kept bouncing me around while I was trying to nap!).

@skibobrown: I am MUCH better then I was. At about 12 wks I could tell a BIG difference in how I felt, and have gotten better continually, BUT still get sick! I have to take my meds at night otherwise it makes it worse. I am NOT a person to throw up, but I do randomly still, and I get really bad diahrrea :( This is my second baby, and I could feel movements around 15 wks. With my first, it was about 20 wks.

@Ms Mini: The pic of shaking fist is adorable!!!!! It made me laugh :)

    @Ms Mini:

SO cute!!! I'm 11 weeks and 1 day today as well!! But my EDD is 4/30/12 and yours is 5/5/2012 (my birthday!) :)

    -

I'm so sorry you ladies further along still have MS! I really hope my nausea leaves, pronto!

I was doing pretty good about 2 weeks ago and past week it's been back with a force. Sigh. I guess the 12 weeks ms being at its peak is holding true for me? I was thisclose to throwing up this morning, the closest I've come so far.

I feel so badly for those of you who are still sick!!! :( :( Mine also vanished at 12 weeks, thankfully. Life was so miserable the first 12 weeks, I don't know what I'd do if I still felt that way.

@skibobrown: I started feeling movement a tiny bit around 15 weeks, and more around 17-18 weeks. Now it is consistent, though some days more than others. Today was the first time I felt it even while walking around. I am obsessed with it :)

@Ms Mini: Love the pics!! So cute!!

In other news, DH's mom is really sick (cancer), and when we first found out, we told her right away because we thought she was going to pass away. She got a little better, then much better (remission), but now she's relapsed already. It's really hard, especially thinking about how she might be gone by the time the baby is here. I feel so bad for DH. Anyway, not really any questions, just putting it out there because it's on my mind tonight.

    Oh and I'm 19weeks, 5 days :)

@AvantLaLettre:I am so sorry to hear the news about your MIL! I hope her treatment plan works well, and I hope the doctors have some aggressive treatments in mind.

Even if it's deadly--don't listen the their estimated lifespan. I have too many (not enough? ;) ) friends that are still alive well beyond when their doctors said they would expire. Hope is a powerful thing!

Thoughts and prayers for your MIL's speedy recovery and longest possible life for her.

@PasteMoo: Thanks! We love the fist shaking pic so much, because I do it as a joke all of the time!

@regberadaisy: My MS waxes and wanes constantly lately, this morning I was throwing up the water before my US, and this afternoon I was able to look at raw meat for the first time in a month! Overall, I have been feeling better this week (10 weeks) then I have since 4 weeks! I hope it keeps getting better! I would love to start weaning off some of my nausea meds!

@AvantLaLettre: I am sorry about your MIL - I hope she is able to keep going, and is able to spend some time with your LO.

@AvantLaLettre: I'm so sorry about your MIL. DH lost his dad of liver failure in June and his mother last year in April. It's really rough to see your spouse go through something like that. We're all here for you. You never know, though, she could surprise all of you and live for another 20 years.

    Woo! 16 weeks today!

@Ms Mini: That is so cute! One of the girls (us tech) that I work with snuck a peak of my bambino yesterday and my pictures were almost identical to yours (only mine was shaking its right arm at us!) It was amazing to see him/her (i really need to come up with a nickname instead of calling it "it" all the time haha) At one point it basically kicked its feet off of the side of my uterus and it's whole body did that wave! AHHH! I was so excited lol...

@AvantLaLettre:  I'm so sorry about your MIL!

In other news for me ... as my friend was scanning yesterday she noticed that my placenta is covering my cervix... From my Google research it seems that this early in my pregnancy it's not a big deal since a lot of times it corrects itself once the uterus starts growing more ... Hopefully that is the case! I hope everyone has a good day!

    Oh and I'm 11w4d =)

Thanks for your support, everyone. It's just so hard seeing him like this. Especially during this time, when I am so happy about the baby. I mean, he is too, but it's definitely not on his mind as much as it was when his mom was doing well. Can't say I blame him, but it's still hard.

I went to get blood work done today. Pregnancy panel, hepatitis, cystic fibrosis and urine culture. They took TEN vials of blood from me! Ten! And the NP told me to fast when I didn't have to!

@Rosie Girl Awww... I'm pretty sure that my bump is helped along by my extra cushion left from DS. lol

@Quietserenity: UGH! This past week was my first without any, but still have had some occasional upset tummy, like indigestion... Hope yours passes soon!

@skibobrown: I'm right about 15wks & I've felt some sporadic movement, primarily when I lay down for bed. When my midwife was checking the heartbeat today we got a couple of kicks then too (but I didn't feel them). I think with DS I was around 17/18 when I really started feeling things.

@Ms Mini: LOVE! So cute! =)

@AvantLaLettre: Sorry to hear about your MIL... she'll definitely be in our prayers!

@WiLLowTreE: I had a low laying partial previa at that time too.... they said it was pretty normal and my midwife said it would be like if I stuck a piece of gum on the inside of a balloon.... as it gets blown up the gum would move up no problem. ;)

    @regberadaisy: Wow that's alot!

    @MrsStrz:  @amnystik:

Seriously!!! I'm right at the verge of the weight requirement to give blood for the Red Cross so immediately after the blood work I stopped and grabbed a strawberry smoothie. And I brought my breakfast to work since you know the NP told me I was suppose to fast! I think she should have told me to eat more.

Sooo...I'm guessing no one else had to have so much blood work drawn after they got pregnant???

@regberadaisy: Lol.... it's not really that much, it just seems like it. The viles only hold about 5ml of blood... right around a tsp. It just looks like alot! I remember days when I was a phlebotomist where I'd draw an OUNCE b/c there were so many tests. lol... that would be crazy to be fasting though, talk about bringing on some dizzy!

hahaha...yeah it looks kinda scary when there's ten vials sitting on the counter. Half of them were 7.5 ml and the other half 5ml.

I just googled and this was the panel ordered I believe:

    http://labtestsonline.org/understanding/wellness/pregnancy/pre-torch/

And also HIV screening, cystic fibrosis and urine culture.

@regberadaisy: Damn girl, 10 vials?! I had mine done this morning and she only took 5 vials, and 3 were really small. I would have passed out. Blood is disgusting. And no, I didn't have to fast. I think that's just for the glucose test.

@regberadaisy: I think they took 7 or 8 for me, Apparently our drs just like to look at a lot of results: Hep B, syphillis, HIV, blood type, CBC, cystic fibrosis, and at least one or two more that I didn't really pay attention to.

Wow I didnt realize there was a part 6 already... I totally lost track..  Getting to see the baby my ultrasound at 11 weeks and 4 days was awesome because for once the little one actually looked like a real baby she kept stretching her legs and kicking me, I'm assuming she/he was trying to kick off the doppler thingy because I dont think they like the feeling of it.

i wasn't sure which board to post this on, but all the topics on the flu vaccine made me wonder...

my OB told me to get vaccinated as soon as the shot becomes available.  did anyone else get/or will get the flu shot per their dr's advice?  also, does this mean we will be offered the flu shot as a vaccine for the baby when s/he is born?  just wondering if anyone has any info on this.

@ustechie: I've never had a flu shot before, but I've heard that pregnant women are supposed to get one.  It makes sense to me, since it can be very tough on both mom and baby if the mom gets very sick while pregnant.  I was going to ask my doctor about it at my next appointment and am planning on following her recommendation (which I assume will be to get the shot).  Also, from the CDC website it looks like babies younger than 6 months can't get a flu shot.

@AvantLaLettre: I'm so sorry about your MIL.  My mom's mother passed away very suddenly when she was pregnant with me, and it sounds like it was devastating.  She went on to have a very healthy baby though.  (Me!), and I think it was comforting to her to bring life into the world after such a tragic loss.  For your sake (and your husband's) though I really hope that your MIL hangs in there to meet the new baby.

I'm jealous of those of you feeling movement at 15 weeks, since that's how far along I am now.  Our baby hasn't been very active at any of our ultrasounds, so I think s/he might just not be a big mover :-(

@ustechie: I got the flu shot.. was a little nervous but I always get it without problems. I didn't get sick and I definitely don't want the flu this year :) As for the whooping cough vac, I think that's the TDAP and I've already had that.

@skibobrown: Thank you. That must have been awful for your mom. I think that's a good point about bringing life into the world after a tragic loss. Still so tough for us/him though so we're praying she pulls through.

I just had my check up (heard the heartbeat for the first time!!) and my doctor basically told me to get the flu shot. I always thought it caused the flu, but she told me to get it so I did. My arm is a little sore today, but if it's for the baby I will do it.

My gender scan is Nov. 9th and I am super excited!

@regberadaisy: that is a lot of blood! DO you have any left?!

@ustechie: I am not getting it. I got it with my DS, and ended up getting sick. The vaccine only lessens your symptoms if you end up with the flu, so the way I see it is: you can not get it and maybe or maybe not get the flu, or get it and maybe or maybe not get the flu. I'll take my chances!

Question for everyone: What have your appointments been so far? I know every doctor is different, but I feel like we are all doing such different things. It would be interesting to see what our appointments have been.

    Here's mine:

Appt 1: - 9 weeks - had ultrasound (abdominal) and talked with doctor some with       questions.

Appt 2: - 11 weeks - Paperwork for the hospital, gave me orders to have blood drawn

Appt 3 & 4: - 12 weeks - had blood drawn for HIV, Cyctic fibrosis, etc. (at Quest), then had culture done for veneral diseases and listened to hearbeat at OBGYN, also started peeing on sticks to test for protein/glucose(will do this everytime now).

Appt 5: Set up for 16 weeks; have no idea what we are doing then.
