We got married in early March, so a lot of flowers were out of season! It actually kinda made things easier, in that there were less options available. :-)
Of course we didn't think about what was in season until after we picked out date and put deposits down with a few vendors. September wasn't too bad, we still had great options...but if I had a spring wedding...I would have had TONS of orchids from my grandma and MIL.
I just went with roses- and since they are grown all over the place and pretty hardy when transported, the season wasn't an issue for us.
Wow, I've never seen that type of flower before, they're so artful and the colors are so soft -- very bridal. I love it! Thanks for sharing.
I wasn't very familiar with anemones until Miss Stiletto posted on them recently:
I answered "yes & no" because short term, I didn't really think about it. I simply went into my florist to talk about different flowers. But long term, we are going with flowers that are in season, because she suggested it to us. In the long run, I decided it was best to go with flowers in season, especially since I didn't have my heart set on a particular type of flower. This way, I think I'll get the best looking bouquet with the freshest possible flowers-- and my prices are more reasonable because they don't have to ship the flowers in from other countries where they ARE in season.
I chose my flowers before I knew what was in season for my wedding. Luckily my main flower IS in season. I don't think the accent flower is, but we're planning on doing silk for those flowers anyway.
Rosy: I loved her post! I've been falling harder and harder for anemones...they are just so fun and classy looking all at the same time.

Seeing as tomorrow is the first day of Spring, this is a timely post...
I stumbled across the GORGEOUS anemone bouquet and thought I'd share it. Anemones and lots of other gorgeous flowers are coming into season with the Spring thaw.
Are any spring brides sticking to in season flowers?
