We are wondering whether to have a spy themed wedding, which we think goes well with our colors (black, white, and red), or Disney. We got engaged in Disney World last September. We did it in front of a photographer with photos of it in front of the castle. To note our centerpieces come with our package which we chose floating red roses.
For Spy we have come up with:
entrance to reception to spy music
spy couple wedding cake topper
We already have a printed photo book of the engagement that people can page through.
Bridal Mickey and Minnie which we bought at Disney (also for at the gift table)
Bridal his and her mouse ears which can be displayed at the cake table or gift table.
Also appropriate music can be chosen.

Neither are my favorite theme, personally.. However, it sounds like Disney is special to you guys… I think your ideas would make it a really cute theme – and it does go with your colors 🙂 So, why not?!

It’s funny…I’m getting married at Disney too and yet I’m determined not to have a Disney wedding lol Other than a few photo ops with the bride and groom ears, I’m trying very hard to keep Mickey and Minnie away lol

Do you need a “theme”? I always think of themes as being more appropriate for a kid’s birthday party than a wedding. I think your color scheme is enough, and if you must add a cutesy twist, I would possibly do a cake topper or MAYBE the mouse ears… but that’s it.
OR, what about having a fun theme for your rehersal dinner? I think it would be much more appropriate.

I agree with Miss Root, to me the themes come off more as kids birthday parties. I don’t really like either of them.

i love the disney idea! we actually considered doing a disney theme, since disney has a special meaning for us too, but i was worried it wasn’t going to mesh well with the other elements of the wedding (mexican traditions, military traditions, and our colors aren’t exactly “disney-esque”), so we’re just having a mickey and minnie cake topper. and maybe some mouse ears in a few pictures, heh.
but yeah, i think disney would give off such a fun atmosphere. i’d go with disney 🙂

Disney! (I always love anything Disney!)

I think you can do a disney theme without making it too kiddish. I mean, Alfred Angelo has an entire Disney princess bridal gown line. I would probably avoid too much of the Mickey Mouse ears stuff, but it would be cute to have Mickey/Minnie cake toppers. Other than that, you can always go with the classic elegance displayed at the end of disney fairy tales where the characters get married. (You can always do hidden mickeys everywhere too) I really like the idea of ballroom like reception halls, disney love songs, ballgown wedding dress, etc. You can make it fairytale like without being too kiddish.
Even you want it to be more “kiddish” I don’t think there is anything wrong that. Disney is special to you guys, so there is nothing wrong with making it Disney themed with mickey mouse ears everywhere.
As for the spy theme, I think it sounds very fun, but probably more appropriate for the rehearsal dinner/engagement party. I associate spy with violence/murder/death etc, so these are things I wouldnt want to associate with a wedding.

We had a 007 spy themed prom and although it looked nice and was actually pretty elegant, I couldn’t imagine it for a wedding. I say go with Disney if you feel you need a theme (:
