(Closed) square or round?

@LBalazi:  The square shape of the cake would be more apparent and set off by round shapes elsewhere.  I’ve seen cakes that mix round and square tiers, so why can’t you mix the shapes in your decor.

Don’t worry about it, no one is going to be comparing the shapes of the cake and vases! I think people’s eyes are drawn to colors, textures, and themes more than shapes (especially basic shapes like cylinders). I say don’t worry about whether the vases and cake match, if you want to coordinate everything, stick to a theme (modern, vintage, etc. etc. etc.) and carefully choose colors for the cake table and the reception tables that will complement one another. Does that make sense?

Mix it all up!~ Different shapes will look nice. We had a round wedding cake and had it displayed on a square cake stand to really make it stand out!  Here is the pic… sorry it is cropped.. haha.
