Colin Cowie did some great square table centerpieces this winter. I was thinking of doing something similar but with herbs, grass, and potted plants. I don't want florals that will die in a couple of days (especially in the hot sun that we'll be having!)
My cousin had rectangular tables at her wedding and just put one centerpiece in the middle. It was low enough that we could talk over it. You can't really tell, but thevase was square.
Here are some other ideas- with candles!
If you go with candles, I think you can use votives to help make the tables less bare.

i really like these... thinking about doing something myself.. you can definatly spread it out (the river rocks) and fill in bare arease!
These ideas are great! I'm definitely in favor of keeping them simple + low. Our venue supplies three small chunky (square) vases for our use for either flowers or candles, so I was thinking of just putting a different type of flower bunched in each and putting them along the table, mixed with candles. I also considered doing a small cupcake tower in the center but I'm not sure!

Anyone have any good ideas for centerpieces for square tables? I'm not a huge flower person and I love candles... I am nervous of the tables looking too bare or the opposite, too crowded. Did anyone have a reception with square tables? All the pictures I've seen from previous weddings at our venue didnt do a good job filling the table and they looked bare!
