Just asking for prayers, thoughts, ideas. My wedding is a week from today. I’m from St. Louis, but live in Raleigh. My family and friends back home were planning to fly from STL to Raleigh on Thursday to be here for our wedding weekend. As you may have heard, the airport was hit by a tornado and is closed indefinitely. Thankfully, my family and friends are okay, but they have been calling all day and I don’t know what to tell them besides sit tight. I think my mom and Maid/Matron of Honor will be able to get here. My mom’s boss charters a private plane regularly and she’s pretty sure he will let her use it and bring Maid/Matron of Honor with her. She’s trying to figure out a plan B if it doesn’t open this week. Most people are on Southwest, which helps since they are so flexible and will likely honor any cancelled flights on another flight. I think the rest are on American which blows. She’s thinking about getting a bus and getting people to KC? I don’t know – I guess there’s nothing you can really do but pray – so pray please! And not just for our wedding, but for the people of STL.
Ironically – I live in Raleigh and a tornado touched down in the neighborhood across the street from us last week. My mom and Fiance are pretty sure we are cursed.

I’m sure they will find a way to get to your wedding. I’m glad everyone is okay though!

Good luck getting everyone there–at least everyone is safe!

The airport should be open by Monday, with only one terminal closed for longer. My friend was suppose to be flying out to Key West from Lambert but now has to go through Bloomington. Don’t worry they’ll get there 🙂
My Aunt and Uncle have a 2×4 sticking out of their roof! It got pretty crazy here! Thankfully everyones ok!
Did you see that church with the damage? I couldn’t help but think of anyone with a wedding coming up and Easter!

I was in StL last night at the Cardinals game through the storm… it was a rough night!! I hope they are able to get there! Prayers going out!

@MrsPinkPeony: I did see that! My cousin got married at that church! I didn’t think about Bloomington. I guess that’s an option if we need it too. But things are looking up! I do think I have one uncle flying on American, but hopefully terminal C will be up by Friday. He isn’t flying out until then.
@emersynsmommy35: My mom made sure to point out that the game still happened. A friend of mine said “We’re a baseball town with a tornado problem.”
My mother also informed me that she was driving in it! She actually left church and drove the 45 minutes from Florissant to Lake St. Louis, but she took 40. Crazy woman.

I’m hoping they can all make it somehow! But being realistic, the airport is in really CRAP condition, and it’ll probably be a week or two at the earliest before it’s back up and running. I hope all goes smoothly for you!

Have they tried calling the airlines yet to see what the airlines are doing to reroute people? In this case I would think they would arrange for them to fly into a nearby airport and bus them.
But then maybe not since it’s a natural disaster.
Yikes! I hope that your mom and Maid/Matron of Honor make it!!! Everyone else will be gravy! 🙂

This would be a pain, but they COULD drive. Yes, it’s about 14 hours. But at least they’d get there!
OR, could they drive to Jefferson City or Columbia and connect in Chicago?

The airport should be back to 70% operating by tomorrow and I’m sure by next Thursday they shouldn’t have any problems!!

@ms.walter: My mom just called with that info. Yippee!
What a morning. I’m getting a glas of wine! Thanks ladies!

Worst case scenario, they will drive. I think it’ll be ok!!!
