I’m looking for suggestions for great photo opps in St. Louis for our engagement pictures. We’re looking to do them in early April, so I guess there’s not a whole lot of time to plan! (Gotta buy some cute outfits, too, but that’s post for another day.) What are everyone’s suggestions for good locations too shoot?
Since a friend is doing our pictures for an obscenely low price, we’ve decided to shovel out the money for a whopping 30 minute session in Busch Stadium. But other than the stadium, I don’t have any definite ideas… Hopefully the trees will be in bloom in time!
Post pics! I’d love to see other engagement pics for ideas.

@pnytail01: We did forest park and it was wonderful in the fall – my photographer does spring there and they are even better. Here are our engagement photos there…

I had thought about forest park… and then I also just thought of the Botanical Gardens. For a while, I was assuming there was a charge involved… but that’s only if you’re doing wedding pictures there. Amatuer photographers are allowed to family photos and other photos free of charge (outside of admission). So as long as I’m not in a wedding dress, I think we’re free and clear! And, we can get in for free on a Saturday before noon, since we’re residents of St. Louis county! Looks like we’re getting everything set up for one of the second two weeks of April.
Time to start shopping!

CityGarden has a lot of cool sculptures for pictures. http://www.citygardenstl.org/
Plus, it’s not too far from Union Station.
I’d also look at Faust Park. They have an indoor carousel (that’s where we’re getting hitched), a beautiful historic village, and the Butterfly House.

We did ours in Old Town St. Charles. It’s gorgeous!

The arch? (Especiallys since you’re already at Busch stadium.) I did some photo shoots there with friends (not e pics) and they were AWESOME.

@dukdukguse: City Garden! I forgot all about that one. I still haven’t taken the time to walk through there, but it looks so nice and like so much from just from the street view. I would have hated myself for forgetting such an easy photo opp!
@M.Ruder: I bet OTSC was beautiful. I don’t see us making it out that way, but I’ll have to file that idea away, if nothing else for ideas for other friends.
@ellabee: We might get a few shots with the arch… if nothing else from the stadium. However, my FI and family aren’t from St. Louis. While I’ve recruited him to be a die-hard Cards fan, he’s converted me into a die-hard Chief’s fan… so we’ll focus on that and sport the jerseys. But since we plan on sharing these pictures with the families, I don’t think we want to scream St. Louis. 🙂 Though the riverfront is a lot of fun, and I bet those pictures would be really cool.
Thanks for the ideas, ladies!

@ellabee: I second the City Museum! It’s such a fun place with so many opportunities for unique photos. Do it!
