My friends went to the Sandals and they LOVED it. They went three years ago and they are still raving about it! And they are very very very picky people. Picky food people, picky travel people, etc. Their pictures are beautiful!
Oooh yes, please start posting about this because I am still looking for a location for our Honeymoon and St. Lucia was on the list
Good I am glad that they liked it. I guess I was being a bit of a snob when I said that Sandals was cheesy. But if picky people liked it- then I should be good. I just want to go to a place where I FEEL like I am on a honeymoon- where I feel like everything is being taken care of and I don't have to worry about anything.
Chantellamus- Everyone I know that has been to St. Lucia loved it. I would post pics but it looks like you're getting married while I am on my honeymoon!
Oh yes, well I have been to St. Lucia before - but only passing through on a cruise so have never settled down in a resort or anything!
I have had my eye on this place - http://www.jademountain.com/ but like you would like something all inclusive because I just want to pay one fee and be done with it, not contstantly be pulling out cash! but this place is amazing isint it?!
We are going to the Sandals Grand St. Lucian (I think that is what it is called). I heard it is the best one to go to out of the Sandals resorts. My sister stayed right near it when they went on their honeymoon and heard that area is the best!
I am heading to Sandals Regency in St. Lucia on Sunday (6/7). My cousin actually just got back from the Regency last week and LOVED it. Now, he and his wife did one of the millionaire suites which we are NOT doing. But, he said it was great anyway. He did say not to go to the Sandals Halycon Bay -- he said the food stunk there.
I will post on our honeymoon when we get back.
My sister and her husband went to the Sandals on St. Lucia and gave it rave reviews! We are going to the Sandals on Antigua and have high hopes
We are going to the Sandals Regency as well -- I can't wait! If you're thinking about doing it, now may be the time. When we booked, they were running a 65% off booking fee sale, so we got it for a great price! I don't know if they're still running that promotion or not, but it's definitely worth checking into!
Good luck!
We just booked the St Lucia, Sandals Grand Regency, all inclusive, the honeymoon grand luxery suite and it was right around 5000 for September 2009. We received a 65% off from the rate due to a promotion they were running and also received a 250.00 spa credit. This was for 7 days (sunday to sunday). I am excited. We purchased travel insurance which we didnt want to do but since we are heading down in hurricane season, it was a good thing to do.
I used to think Sandals was cheesy ... but now I think that honeymoons are their business and all-inclusive [read:not having to worry about a thing after spending months planning the smallest details of a wedding] sounds *amazing*. Have fun!!

I believe that all inclusive is the way to go for my honeymoon, because I don't want to worry about a THING the entire time I am there. We also have pretty much decided on St. Lucia.
Has anyone else done all-inclusive at St. Lucia? If I am trying to get the honeymoon to under $4k total, is there any place you would recommend? We were thinking Sandals Regency only because we have the option to eat at any of the Sandals hotels, and won't be limited to one restaurant. But is Sandals overrated?
