We are honeymooning in St. Lucia in early October. Has anyone had experience with their October weather? I know it is their rainy season but I’m not sure what exactly that means. Does it rain all day? Does it rain for a half hour every day at 4 p.m. like during Florida summers? How concerned should we be?

I have never been there in early Ocotber but I was there in July. It was TOO Hot! I think October would be nice weather probably in the mid 70’s. You should try looking at one of those online weather tracking services to see what the weather was like in St. Lucia the past 5 years. I hope everything works out!

October can be the hurricane season for much of the Caribbean, and while St. Lucia is relatively southern, it’s still not 100% safe from bad weather. Your best bet for good, solid info is to get on Trip Advisor and ask some people (even locals post there for certain places) about this issue.
And? Buy trip insurance.
We decided against going over there (also going in October) because insurance or not, we wanted to take no chances with our honeymoon.
EDIT: Should probabaly mention that my best friend spent a couple of years living in the eastern Caribbean, which is why I suggusted doing research rather than jsut flat out saying “I wouldn’t go” – Her island is one that missed the hurrican belt for whatever reason so there wasn’t a danger.

We’re going to St. Lucia too in late October! I’ve heard that they kinda miss the hurricane weather and usually if it does rain it doesn’t rain long. I am getting this info from Trip Advisor and Google. I too would love to hear from someone who’s been there during that time

You should be fine and I bet the weather will be wondrful! Hurracaines ususally do not go as far south as St. Lucia so you should be fine. I would also think that you would get a squall or two a day. Which should be fine. I went in July 2 years ago and it was hotter than hell and it still rained at least once a day.

I had no idea that tripadvisor.com has such great forums. Crap, another site to become addicted to…lol.

We are most likely heading to St. Lucia in mid-October. It seems like there will be a bee there the entire month!
I’ve heard the same things as Habibah, so hopefully we will all have nice weather!
