So I’m thinking for my St. Patty’s Day wedding I want to do a mossy green and a gold or champagne. I feel like if it’s not done right, it will look a bit hack. My other options were for the girls to be in mossy green with pink accents and the MOH in pink. My last option is to do Tiffany blue and white. My girls all love this but I plan to wear ivory and not sure how it will look together. Any thoughts?

Ok I’m a little confused. Your profile says July 2011. Thats not St. Pattys day. Are you just doing like an “irish theme”? If so I would do an Olive green color, with gold, white and brown accents. Dont over do the gold! Thats where it gets tacky. My colors are actually Tiffany blue, white and brown but my second choice was olive. Its just sophisticated looking.
Greens are gorgeous in small amounts. Olive is subtle enough that you can use alot of it without it looking tacky. But for a St. pattys theme then you definetly need to have some gold in there too. The only problem with gold is that it is such a bold color that has been around for sooo many years it can kinda look tooo…..Las vegas-ish???? I love those colors but if you wanted to do the Tiffany blue, thats a great choice too! I’ve noticed that in my wedding its making everything look so fresh, pretty and definetly has that “wow” factor.

You could do tiffany blue and white, and then do sweet little pops of kelly green- like shoes.
Moss green and ivory would be a classy choice as well. It might be easy to overdo the green though. Maybe a pallet of three colors, like cool gray, gold and green?

I would say that green, ivory and navy would look beautiful as well, and you could easily add in gold.
Or green, ivory and champage & gold.
Def. make green an accent color.

@Kare – I wasn’t able to change my wedding date on my profile when I was last on, 10 months ago. Thanks for pointing that out.
@LovesPearls – Thanks for the links, I loved the little shamrocks on top of the Guiness, amog other things. Super cute!
So, I have made a ton of progress, including updating my profile with the correct wedding date. The colors on the table will be ivory and gold and the bridesmaid dresses are Bari Jay in forest green. I’m going with an ivory dress and think gold shoes will be a nice touch.
I have step dancers coming in after cocktail hour. I am hoping my cousins from Ireland, who are musicians, will be able to attend and maybe wouldn’t mind performing a song or two.

My family just got back from a trip to Ireland! Those dresses are fabulous! We got to see several wedding parties during our trip and it was so fun to see their style! I think your original idea sounds beautiful. Two Irish plants that might be neat to include in your day would be purple foxglove and heather. The other flower that we saw everywhere were roses! The garden roses were amazing!

@Missbliss:I’m definately going to have some heather in my bouquet.
I’m also planning to put a sixpence in my shoe.
