- Wedding: March 2014
Hi Twin Cities folks! I’m looking for some ideas for where to have my rehearsal dinner. I’m from St. Paul and my family still lives there (hence having the wedding there), but I’m totally clueless about restaurant options in the area.
A little about what we’re looking for:
All of our wedding is going to be in downtown St. Paul. Ceremony, reception, rehearsal, hotel blocks, etc. Since about 80% of our guest list is going to be from out of town, I’d really like it if the rehearsal dinner location is either in or close to downtown STP. Or at least really super easy to get to.
My fiance’s family is East-Coast Italian, so I’d either like to avoid Italian food altogether or the place has to be 100% authentic.
Ideally the place would have a private (or semi-private I guess) room that could hold at LEAST 25 people, but no more than 75 or so. I’m guessing my in-laws will want to invite at least 40 people :-/
My in-laws are very generously paying for this whole shindig, and I’m not really sure how much they’re looking to spend, so I’m trying to give them a few options in the area. My fiance and I are going to be in MSP in August, and we’ll try out a few places then, which is why we’re pulling a list together now.
Right now the two places on our list are the Liffey and Great Waters. I’d love to have it at the Happy Gnome, but I’m worried that the space is too big and the price is too steep. Thoughts on those place? Where else should I look?
