Any of you bees using outside caterers mind sharing your staffing fee?
We are getting some proposals from local places (our venue doesn’t provide catering) and the one that was just sent to me included a $2,000 staffing fee. Is that normal for the MA area? Obviously the staff needs to be paid, it just wasnt something I remembered to include in my budget.
Our wedding is 75 guests for 5 hours.

Our caterer has a labour fee on top of their Per Person charge.. It was 17% of the cost. So for our wedding we will be paying just over $600 in labour fee.. which I assume is the same as a staffing fee. I am in Canada though so the going rates are different here. 🙂

Hmm ok thanks. The $2000 fee is about 40% of our PP cost (including food and beverage). I still think thats pretty high but I dont have much to compare it to?

I got quoted $5000 by a caterer for a 130 person wedding for 8 hours. Just for staffing costs. Food and alcohol came to 11k, 4500 for rentals and then a bunch of other bs fees.
Ask around some more. I didn’t have an option with this venue since they only allowed their specific exclusive caterer.

My caterer is saying $50/hour per server, 4 hour minimum, including people I may not actually see, who are behind the scenes.
