They have specific stainless steel cleaners that work wonderfully! I'm not sure exactly where to buy them as we got ours from work, and go through it slowly (just our coffee maker and mixer are stainless steel.) but it's an aerosol can.
I love the spray foam stuff specifically for stainless steel I got at Walmart in their cleaning product section. Use a good cloth and rub it in and then use another clean spot on the cloth to get that shine :) What do you do now that you don't like?
What we do now has so many steps compared to when we just had wipe appliances, it was like one quick wipe and you're on your way. No, we wipe down with a cleaner to get all the grease and gross stuff off (like on the stove). Then, we wipe down with a stainless steel wipe, but then you still have to wipe after the stainless steel wipe with a clean cloth to get everything all nice and shiny.
@Lillandy - I also love stainless but worry about the cleaning! So we compromised. We got "silver" appliances. They have the look of stainless but clean like regular white or black :)
ditto about the stainless cleaners that you can buy. they have wipes, but my favorite was a cream that came in a bottle from sears. you just squirt some on and wipe off. works so well.
We use stainless cleaner wipes. It's really not a big deal. I do it probably once a month, or if guests are coming over and there are prints on the fridge/ water mark on the dishwasher etc... I would buy stainless if you like the look because I have found that cleaning is not a problem!
I found this great product they are actually whipes. I think they are just called stainless steel whipes. They are awesome cause not only do they clean up they protect from everyday finger prints.
I'm glad to see that theirs hopefully an easy solution as it seems we're about to get some stainless appliances!
Honestly I used all of that stuff for the first while but now I just wipe down with a wet cloth and then dry with a clean dry tea towel and it comes out PERFECTLY!
@Future Mrs. Martin: Wow, I need to try that, it would surely cut down on all the steps I'm currently having to do!
We have to use the special spray on our fridge. It is not hard to clean just a pain to get out a special cleaner.
We got some kind of brushed stainless steel....no fingerprints EVER! My parents have a regular stainless steel fridge and they use these special wipes on them
What @curlysue said. The trick is to clean with one cloth, buff with another. This is also the trick for granite and glass. One of my cleaning ladies taught me this years ago.

How do you clean it?
I love the look of my stainless steel appliances, but it always feels like such a chore to clean it and I can't help but think there's an easier way than what I'm doing! :)
