No stand in for me.  I have a stack that is not soldered together so I can mix and match in different situations.  I did turn my sparkly around in a store that we stopped at the other day, though.  We were travelling and stopped to get gas in what turned out to be a sketchy area.

I have a stand in ring. It’s completely different. My engagement ring is platinum, bombe style, lots of pave, with a 2 ct centre stone. My stand in is 9ct gold, with an emerald cut cz.

I won’t be wearing  a wedding ring with my engagement ring. But I will wear a plain band with my stand in ring.

I chose this stand in ring because it was locally made, looks quite nice, and was on sale before Christmas.

@MoonlitMagnolia:  I wear a plain wedding band when I don’t want stones for whatever reason! Band is rose gold, set is platinum, so they’re different!!

My stand in is on it’s way to me.  It’s completely different.  I have a round diamond halo with split shank for my e ring.  My stand in is a claddagh ring.

I needed something flat.

I do have a stand-in, but it’s completely different from my rings. It’s just a plain sterling silver band that I sometimes pair with a CZ half-eternity band if I want a little more bling. I usually wear it if I don’t want to smack my stone on anything.

I seem to be out of the norm. My CZ stand in is as close to my real set as I could find!

@wrkbrk:  Are your nails always perfect?

Totally different.  My stand in is a really cheap band that I bought to see whether I like the feel  of channel set eternity bands.  I HATE IT, so I got something completely different for my band.

My husband just ordered me my first stand in ring.
I weight train and my engagement ring was getting pretty beat up on the inside so I started taking it off while Im at the gym and he didn’t like the idea of that lol. (I swear, if you take off your ring, people -men- will come up and chat you up!) So I went online looking for a stand in. I didn’t want silver since it’s brittle and can get bent out of shape (I’ve bent silver before). I found this awesome three stack that is made out of stainless steel so I’m gonna give that a whirl!!
They are totally different and it didn’t matter to me that they are different.
My engagement ring is 14k white gold split shank with a morganite oval center stone, (poor baby is all faded) and the stand in is stainless steel with a 1carat cz center and each of the two other rings are dipped in gold and rose gold.
Can’t wait to get them!! 🙂

My stand in came today.  I love it nearly as much as I love my e ring.  It’s an Irish claddagh ring, with a ruby in the centre.  My Nana’s name was Ruby. All her granddaughters have a ruby necklace we wear in memory.  So when I was trying to choose a stone I finally decided to go with it to have her with me. 😉  I wasn’t going to get it inscribed, but my FI said ‘What about: First Came Love’.  Well, that was pretty perfect, so I went with an inscription.

It’s funny, I love this ring so much and it was so cheap.  He probably could have gotten away with buying me one when we were in Ireland the last time and save himself a boatload of money on a my ring.  But, instead, now I have two rings I love.
