WarrenWE: I have two stand in rings, one is CZ, $20 from Amazon that I wear on vacations when I don’t want to risk losing my real ring. The second was $60, 10K white gold band that I wear when I’m working out, cleaning, other things that I don’t want to risk damaging my ring during.

I think I might get a cheap CZ ring from TJ Maxx or something to wear if my real ring was going to be out for a long time getting fixed or something (or as you said, traveling, etc.). I’m not REALLY into rings, so I can’t really see myself spending more than $50 on it, especially since I wouldn’t be wearing it long term and I’d much prefer my actual ring. It’s a good idea though, one I hadn’t considered before and after I’m engaged I might just look into it.

My ring is getting a diamond replaced right now, and it’s supposed to take close to a month before I get it back. There was no way I was going to go that long without a ring on my hand, so I just went to walmart and bought a cheap one to wear in the meantime. Eventually I would love to get a nicer stand in with a sapphire or something.

I have a canary cushion stand in from berricle, a rose gold morganite halo from etsy, and a CZ eternity band from TJMaxx as stand ins. I like them for vacation or whatever.

WarrenWE: I have one! I got it off of ebay for $30. It’s a white sapphire and topaz. I wanted it to look as close as possible to my ring so it wouldn’t catch anyone’s attention when I wear it lol.

the top ring is my real ER and the bottom is my stand in 🙂

No. I considered getting 1 (when i had to leave it at the jeweler’s for a whole day to be sized) but I haven’t. Once we’re married I’ll probably just wear my wedding band alone if i don’t feel comfortable wearing my engagement ring somewhere. I have rings at home from before that I could wear if i needed something on my finger…. maybe I should have the opal ring my fiance bought me back in highschool sized up so that i can wear it again for that purpose?

When we were narrowing down what style of e-ring to get, I bought two $15 CZ rings off amazon to wear around to see how I felt about a 3-stone or a solitaire. Once our custom-made e-ring arrives, I’ll use the 3 stone CZ as a stand in for situations where I don’t feel comfortable wearing my actual ring. It’s sort of similar to my e-ring in that it’s also a 3 stone, but most importantly it’s only $15. If I lose it or it gets stolen, no big deal.

So if you’re in the market to get a stand in, I’d recommend amazon or berricle. Cheap options and cute rings! Plus, the cheaper they are, the more you can buy 😛

WarrenWE: No, I don’t have a stand-in ring and I don’t plan to purchase one. I specifically chose a plain wedding band that I can wear alone while traveling, etc. We like to travel internationally, including to third-world countries, and not only am I concerned about my engagement ring getting stolen/lost, but I don’t like the display of wealth in areas where poverty is so commonplace.

Any time where I don’t feel comfortable wearing my e-ring, I certainly wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing a “stand-in” either.

My fiancé proposed with the stand-in since we were on vacation and he didn’t want to carry around the expensive ring. It’s a very similar style to my engagement ring, but 0.75 carat emerald-cut emerald instead of 1.5 carat emerald-cut black diamond. I love them both a ton. The emerald was way cheaper than the black diamond; it’s lab-created.

I wear two Berricle stacking bands in place of my set when I go to the gym and sometimes when traveling. They’re sterling silver and CZ (one white and one pink CZs). I think they were around $30 with a promo code.

I have one – it is a simple silver band that was a present given to me by my grandma few weeks before her passing.

I was wearing that ring for 3 years, and now it works as stand-in ring, because it fits only my ring finger.

My stand in is a berricle ring for less than $40 and other than a third band it looks exactly like my set. I just love it. Ring on top is ering and bottom is my stand in.

WarrenWE: I don’t have a stand in ring yet, only because my size is not easily made. It’s a pain to find my size just pre-made. When we got my ring, they had to make the mold first before they could even make the ring at least the place we ordered from. I’m a size 3. So should the horrible event of my ring needing to be fixed (the setting) I would just wear the stainless steel band that I ordered from Amazon which happened to be in my size. I also got a gemstone so any stand in ring that I had would just look completely different from my usual ring and that would throw me off.
