@julies1949:  hi, was wondering if you knew where I can get the “starry lights” from (the 3rd pic from the bottom).  I love them and I dont know if its a lot of work or impossible to do but would like to try to do something similar. Thanks.

@niki2015:  Not sure about this, but they remind me of Christmas outdoor lights you put over trees or bushes in the garden. Instead of being strings of lights (like those you put in your Christmas tree), it’s a mesh. If you’re going with those, it’s the kind of decoration that you can easily find at places like Wal-Mart.

@niki2015:  I think they are just strings of fairy lights hung close together. You can see that they are all in straight lines.

@KHogan: Your wedding theme is almost exactly the same as mine!!! 😀

The big thing that we’re incorporating is FI’s grandfather’s telescope, so people can look out of it, and then lots of lights; candles, twinkle lights, etc. Our venue sort of limits just how “themey” we can go, though, because we’re in a historic mansion, but I think it’ll be very nice.

I look forward to hearing more about your wedding, and I’m happy to share my (secret!) Pinterest inspiration board if you need 🙂

@julies1949:  thanks but I think I will have to create some sort of support so that they keep straight and not start to get loose and dangle down

We will be using a star field projector in our dance hall space.  The dance hall is separate from the dinner space (the bar is inbetween).  When we begin our first dance, the overhead chandeliers will dim to nothing and the star lights will come on.  –Well, at leas that is the plan.

When I think of Starry Night, I don’t think stars and glitter and Christmas lights. I think van Gogh’s painting and the vivid blues and golden yellows and black and dark green landscaping. It’s a very rich pallette.

@wabanzi: We’re also looking to do something like this! Have you purchased a star projector? I’m wondering how to get the best bang for our buck with this idea.

@KHogan:  I made an inspiration board with that theme awhile back.  I hope it’s at least a little useful to you!

@MrsRevolutionize:  DJ is bringing it.  I don’t think it is even an extra charge.

Buying the size we need would be too expensive, but the website also has the option to rent for $150 (plus shipping) for 2 days.

@KHogan:  Don’t know if you’ve decided on a guestbook idea yet. DH and I really wanted to do this… but decided with the size of our wedding there wouldn’t be enough space (in the whitespace) for our guests to sign. Might work for you though!

You can order a print of the stars in any given date/location: http://indigonight.com/

I also contacted them once and their customer service seemed very good/pleasant.
