I am officially engaged!!!! 🙂 After MONTHS! of waiting and waiting my Fiance (AHH! SO EXCITING!!) Finally put a ring on it! 🙂 haha.
He and I are in a LDR, about three hours give or take a few minutes, and we weren’t planning on seeing each other this past weekend… which understandably was a big bummer. He and my mom were acting a little strange on Wednesday night, which I attributed to the full moon and moved on.
Thursday rolled around and I kind of was suspecting that my Fiance might be coming for a weekend visit and was trying to surprise me. I tried my hardest not to get my hopes up because if I was wrong I didn’t want to be upset, but I also kept quiet so that I didn’t ruin anything for him. (He’s huge on surprising me as often as possible.) I am in my last year of my B.A. degree and had spent all day in class. My last class of the day let out twenty minutes early to which I get 5 text messages from my mom instructing me to do a couple things before I meet her at Wal*Mart. She also insisted I mustn’t go home. I found this really odd and so I chalked it up to my Fiance coming to surprise me and left well enough alone.
After wandering around Wal*Mart for literally two hours my mom tells me that we can go out to eat and that we were going to meet my dad there. I tried to convince my younger siblings who had accompanied my mom and I to Wal*Mart to tell me what in the world was going on, but they didn’t budge and insisted that I was acting crazy and I should just calm down.
Once we got to the restaurant I was expecting to see that my Fiance had arrived with my dad, and again was wrong, he wasn’t there at all and my dad was very calm, cool, and collected. I was a little bummed at this point, I had gotten myself very worked up for absolutely nothing. 🙁
About half way through dinner my Fiance shows up and actually scared me half to death. He apologized for being late for dinner and insisted that he had just gotten to town. Of course I believed him! Why wouldn’t I?
I’m glad your still reading! I’m sorry this is so long! I just love telling the story. 🙂
Between the seven of us we had taken 4 cars to the restaurant (talk about contributing to global warming like crazy that night! haha) I took my own car, my mom drove herself and my two brothers and sister, my dad drove himself, and my Fiance drove himself so we split this way again to go home. My Fiance and I were the first ones to get out of the parking lot and on the way home, he and I arrived within seconds of each other. As we walked into the house he rushed to my bedroom and told me not to peek, I figured he probably got me flowers or something little, no biggie. I had to use the washroom anyway.
By the time I was done my parents had arrived home and I wasn’t in too much of a rush to go to my bedroom. After a few minutes my Fiance suggested I go get something, honestly I don’t even remember what it was anymore!
I went to open my bedroom door and he covered my eyes, all I saw was a glimpse of black-light. Seeing that it was the 8th of the month I thought that he was trying to be cute and have us lay on the bed together and look at the glow stars that are painted on my ceiling. We first said we loved each other under those stars on the 8th of July, and actually, he was the one who remembered this date, I didn’t! 🙂
He kept my eyes covered and had me sit down on my bed. After he noticed my parents and siblings arrived he had me open my eyes and I saw written on the wall with stick on plastic stars, Will You Marry Me? 🙂
My parents caught the whole thing on video and I was so shocked I actually didn’t realize they were there watching, and I was absolutely speechless. I do remember saying yes, and I do remember him asking “Will you do me the honor of marrying me?”
The proposal was absolutely perfect and I actually couldn’t have dreamed up anything better! 🙂
Here’s the best part, some pictures! 🙂
My gorgeous ring! Exactly what I’ve always wanted! 🙂
He combined Will You Marry Me? and I Love You!
