Starting JM's 30 day shred and Brooke Burke's workout DVDs! Any tips?

    Just bought JM's 30 Day Shred as well as Brooke Burke's 2 new workout DVDs (Strengthen & Condition, Tone & Tighten). I'm SUPER excited to try out Brooke's new DVDs, her body is seriously AH-MAZING and she's almost twice my age!!! My plan is to use all 3 DVDs throughout the week so I don't get bored. I'm aiming to work out 6 days/week: BB, JM, BB, BB, JM, BB; but it'll probably end up closer to 3-4 days/week knowing me. :)

    I currently have 5 lb weights at home and was wondering if any bees had experience doing the 30 Day Shred with 5 lb weights? I don't want to get ridiculously bulky (although I did a fair amount of research on women using weights heavier than 3 lbs to tone and I don't think I have to worry about the bulkiness).

    I'll hopefully keep this post updated on my progress. I have a little less than 2 months to shape up before the wedding! EEK!

    I've done JM 30 with only 5lb weights...it's a bit harder than 3lbs but it's def worth it. i feel much more challenged and a lot better using the 5lbs. owever, with JM you WILL be sore for the first 2-3 days but then your body gets used to it. It is an amazing workout and once you get thru level one, you wont have any problems. I got stronger and my muscles started to form/get harder but I'm not bulky by any means. My only problem with JM 30 is that there isn't enough cardio which is what i need so I have to run or do HIIT once or twice weekly. Good Luck! and you can do A LOT in 2 months if you stay consistent and eat properly!

    Update:

    I've done both of Brooke Burke's DVDs now and they are awesome. I am not overweight (5'3", 125 lbs) but I am pretty out of shape.. these DVDs made me sweat like there was no tomorrow but I was still able to walk afterward. AND I actually had a smile on my face for a fraction of a second while doing the workout.. that's BIG. :) The ab workouts were killer but I know if I keep at this, there will definitely be great results.

    5 lb weights were a bit much for me so when I got tired I just dropped them and continued without. Still felt the burn!

    Still waiting for JM's 30 day shred to be delivered so I'll update when I get a chance to try that out.
