I would call your gyn to ask for sure. I dont know exactly the reason behind putting the ring in at the begining of the cycle so I would check with someone who would know for sure.

Start it now, use backup for the wedding and honeymoon.  You’ll likely have a little breakthrough bleeding (though maybe not at all!) and the cramps/emotions will be less.  It also will be one less thing to remember on your wedding day.

I don’t fully understand why starting on certain days means you don’t have to use backup. This site, and a few others, say you only need back-up for the first 7 days– would that be over in time for your wedding?

You can put it in any time. Put it in today if you like. It will be fine. Just make sure you use backup protection like you said in case you have already ovulated this cycle.

i would put it before and use backup if you felt necessary. when i had the nuva ring, i continued to insert them one after another every 3 weeks. i did that for 2 years to avoid having any periods at all. periods are painful and usually knock me down as well.

I agree with talking with your GYN, they should be able to give you an extra Nuvaring so you can just use them back to back and not get a period until after your honeymoon. It’s actually getting pretty popular to do with the Nuvaring, I use it and my doctor has given me enough so that I can skip if I need to and I still will have a year’s worth of prescriptions.
